What does your business do?
We provide hosting platforms for websites, domains, VPN products and we design and develop
websites for those that don't want to do it themselves.
When and why did you start the biz?
I started this so I can hire Homeless Veterans and get them trained in a field that isn't going to be going away anytime soon. I started it last year, but its been slow going. I am working with a company founded by Steve Wozniak. They are going to create the curriculum needed for these veterans to get a solid training base on a full stack style education.
How Many People are in your Company?
Where's your office?
Right now, its in my home office. I want to keep as much money in the business to hire and train as many veterans as we can.
What's the toughest part of running your biz?
Getting customers. Web hosting is overrun with the same businesses offering the same product. I'm hoping our cause will help gain more customers over others in the same business.
What's the most fun part?
Seeing a business owner smile when we show them the live version of their business. It gives them the realization that this is getting real.
Anything you would have done differently?
Yes, I would have got my own servers first instead of purchasing reseller accounts.
What's next on the horizon for your biz?
Raise capital to hire more veterans.
What advice do you have for others?
Just do it. Literally. You can't fail if you don't try. I've had several ideas fail, but it just gives me motivation for another idea.
How do you use Idea Cafe to help your biz?
Since I've been a member all of 6 minutes, I can't get too beefy. So while I am too new to
answer, I am hoping to get insight from other users that will help me grow our business and help veterans.
What are your pets' names?
Do any of these pets help with your biz?
Is there any one person or event in your life that led
you to go into business for yourself?
Working for a terrible manager. No need for names. Today, I would thank him for showing me
how not to be. I can't even call him a leader, he was far from that.
Anyone you publicly want to thank?
Darin Walsh, Scott Lease, Loren Algren. Thank you for being great leaders. RIP ET1 Brian A
Moss - he was a mentor when I was in the military and he was killed at the Pentagon on 9/11.
Once of the best leaders I've known.
