"mypaysystems.com - Anyone ever hear of them?"
Posted by Scott on 08:23:23 1/13/2004
In my searching for an eCommerce solution for my business, I came across http://www.mypaysystems.com

I was wondering if anyone here has ever heard of or maybe even used them? From what I can gather, it seems like a pretty decent solution. Let me know if you have any experience with them.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi,

I had also this problem. I come from Germany. They billed me € 30,00 last month. Firstly I thought it is the credit card fee. Now I find here some more reclaimings.
I will contact my bank also to get back my money!

yeah that happened to me too!!!!!!

If you are from America or Canada and have had this problem, why put up with having your money stolen?

It is your choice to let others take money out of your accounts, etc..

Again, if you are American or Canadian, you can email me at subject to help with your problem.

Just make it out to ATTN: PPL

The best to you all.

6. "MYPAYSYSTEMS.COM IS A SCAM. THEY RIPPED ME OFF."
Posted by Terrance on 19:15:07 1/30/2004
I was being billed by them as long as 6 months ago. I don't even know how they got my credit card info. It was in increments of $12.97. First it was once per month. Then after 3 months I noticed this odd billing. I contacted my bank, and then MYPAYSYSTEMS.COM They said they would refund only 2 months. They never did, and I didn't check to see if they did. I just assumed it was billed back on my credit card. I JUST noticed that they've been billing me about 4 times per month ($12.97) since then. I can't believe it. I just wrote them the letter below, and I don't expect a reply. I will contact my bank tomorrow and get the last 2 months billed back. I suppose anything before that is long gone.

---Here's the letter I just sent them.

I called your company back in early November about being anonymously billed. I had been billed a total of around $40 over 3 months. I was told I would be refunded for the previous 2 months. That never happened.

Since then I was billed about 8 more times for over $100 over the last 3 months. I don't know how you got my credit card info. OR why you are billing me like this. I would like a FULL refund of everything you ever billed me.

I don't have time to keep calling you guys, and hasseling with this. It is absolutely fraud that I'm being billed in this manner. You must know this and I don't expect a response since I don't believe that I'm the only one. I've see your company all over the internet as SCAM after doing an internet search.

Let me know how I can get a complete refund (not just the last 2 months but ALL of it since I've been contacting you for 4 months now).

Sincerely,

Terrance

I had money taen from my Account starting in March till June, the Bank is Investigating it now.
It can be from 2 Companies I dealt with Momentum,I ordered a Sample for a Diet Program Online,it was $4.97 and over a month later thesy sent me a Full Order which I returned and then they sent me another a week later in which I wrote Return to Sender, the other is from Checkmatic.
I was able to contact them but they Insisted it wasnt them.
This Co.actuall tried to withdraw from my account 3 times in a row on the Same Day!
A day later and so one.In one weeks time I was charged over $200 of Insufficient Funds.I do have a Credit Limit if I overexceed my Balance, but regardless the Bank still has to charge me for each Tranaction.

Looking fwd to similar Stories.

We ordered some products for over $1000 from Superstore Electronics in February and the payment went through myPaySystems. Superstore Electronics never delivered the products and in March I received an e-mail stating they are placing a refund. Till this day we have not received anything and last week I made a request for refund directly at myPaySystems. I wanted to check the status of the request yesterday but it seemed like I have never made any request at all. So I made the request again but now I am not very convinced we will ever get the money back because of what happened to us and also after reading all these postings here on this website. So if anybody consideres purchasing anything on the internet through myPaySystems, better do not do it!!!

Hi.

I bought a hosting service and paid through MyPAYSysyems. It is a small payment witch should be made every month. My purchase was made in April and til August everythink was ok. But in August they didn't charge me. as long as my hosting is working properly I am not much worried about it What is more I am using a special card for internet transactions which works as a purse - you can load and unload it before and after payment - so it is impossible to pay too much. I still keep on it about 7$ and this is all they are able to take from me. I really advice you to find a bank which offers this sort of cards. Than you can sleep well.

I just ordered something through them, they e-mailed me

comments that were made. On the 2 e-mails they sent me,
verifying my credit card, I replied back to them, yo cancel
my order, and both came back Mailer daemon, unknown
host. I just called my credit card co. to inform them of this,
they said to wait 2 days until it is posted and then I can put
in a dispute. Looking back, I had ordered something in Nov
2003, never received it, but got billed for it through, the
same website, mypaysystems.com. I really don't know what
is going on here, but it is not good. I also put in a dispute
for my last credit card, and that is also being investigated.

Hi - I just got my cc bill with this on it - I think it is like a Paypal type of thing where certain merchants use it to process payments. I THINK I just figured out where mine came from. My son wanted to download some music from Kazaa. I told him only if it was legal, so there was a button saying "to do it legally, use this" - we ended up at something called "mp3university" - thinking I was getting something from kazaa that was legal, I got it for him. Now we can't find the link to that place from the kazaa site, so I dont' even think their related! I have no idea how we got there, and he isn't even using it!
Now that I remember this, I am ticked about it - does anyone else think this may be the source of their credit card charges??

Hi again - I just called the number on my credit card for mypaysystems.com and confirmed with them it was the mp3university. com which my son wanted but doesn't use. I talked with a nice gal named LIsa and she went and put through to them a request for a refund, so we'll see if that works or not. It was very nice dealing with her, so I hope it works the first time.
These folks don't know yet that I don't fool around and its been a while since I contacted the Better Business Bureau, but I have NO PROBLEM with doing that!

Of course when I call their number, I get a message that they cannot take my call at this time and to leave a message. Definitely, look into this, if you show a similar charge. It appears to be a shady company trying to make an illegal buck.

Golly, you folks know how to scare a person. But on the other side of the fence, I was looking into signing up with myPaySystems. They sent me a 5 page contract. They seem very above board, they even do a credit check on potential vendors and require a copy of their business license and other information to show that they are a legitimate business. I believe they are OK, and that some unscrupulous vendors took advantage of getting a customers billing info. They have a program where the vendor can set up recurring billing on customers, no doubt, that is what DatingPlayground did. So make sure you are pursuing the real criminal. I'm all for catching the bad guy...but make sure you know which one is which.

Wow, that was the same exact charges I got charged too. Hopefully I too will get my money back no questions asked.

By chance, did you attempt to subscribe to a online music downloading service called Winmx.com? I did and I think that's what this is from. They tell you $1.95 per month. Well, I thought $1.95 per month was $1.95 per month.

I have an excellent credit rating and net worth in excess of $1mil. House is paid for etc. Have a legitimate online business now for 6 years doing over $500k gross in revenue. Very few clients ever want to pay by credit card. Mostly medium to large size companies. Anyhow, it's not worthwhile for getting our own merchant account. Mypaysystems turned me down without a reason, even after emailing them a few times asking why when they quote a 99% approval rate. I've never ever been declined anything before so I'm baffled. I even got a recent copy of my credit report and the only thing bad on it is the mypaystems inquiry!

If anyone has read the previous posts they would know by know that MyPaySystems is not a merchant but a PAYMENT PROCESSOR. That would be like calling Visa a bunch of theives because you bought a shirt that did not fit from the Gap. You will find that MyPaySystems is always happy to resolve any situation cardholders may have.

Hey guys, mypaysytems.com is only a credit card processing center. I've used thme for 3 years now for my business www.hartlandhosting.net . If you guys buy something your creditcard statement will reflect "mypaysystems.com" it doesn't matter if you ordered from a porn site or a hosting site. If you go back to mypaysystems.com and ask who the merchant was that made those charges to your account you will find that it was an individual commiting fraud or something lagitamate that you payed for and didn't expect the name "paysystems.com" to appear on the credit card....

Now as far as them as a company, they do what they say they do! they charge 4% and $1.00 per transaction (a lot for a small business) and they pay you on time! They just notified me that they upgraded there equipment to better stop fraud and to reflect the accual merchant on your creditcard statement. so instead of saying "paysystems.com" it will now (in my case) read "HARTLANDHOSTING.NET" much much better!

Good luck

Hello,

You all might find this information useful. After getting excessive charges on overseas calls myself, I did some digging and came up with this contact information from http://www.infonw.com/:

Who are we and what we do?

We are an international company which processes thousands of credit card calls via operator centers or via automated voice prompt systems. These calls are generally from outside of your home country to the rest of the world (or to your home country.)

What is the (Intl Cl – Country X) charge on my credit card?

If you received this description it means that you made an international credit card call from a hotel or a payphone through our live or automated operator.

Contact us:

They reduced my charges when I inquired about my calls.

Good luck!

67. "Watch out for ID theft"
Posted by NA on 17:12:28 6/06/2004
As someone already pointed out, in many cases this seems to be ID theft.

Probably wanna change all your credit cards. Just call them one by one and ask them to close the current account and open a new one. They'll mail new card out generally within 5 business days. Then do the same with the bank. Explain that you might be a victim of ID theft. Call the police and file a report and get a copy of the report for fighting off the credit report agencies later. If you don't stop this, it might keep getting worse. When people have your info, they'll keep using it until it gets rejected or the credit history is too bad or too much time has elapsed. Many might have access to social security numbers and that's also not a good thing. Proactive is the word here.

You may find that people have cards open against your bank account and since you don't know about it, they'll keep using it until you get it cancelled and investigated.

If you must buy things online, dedicate only one of your credit cards to be used online. Watch that account constantly for fraud. Also when in restaurants try to pay by cash. Most people don't do that anymore, but many people working at restaurants with access to so many CC numbers get tempted. Again use one card for all internet and restaurants and other questionable places. It is easier to fight it off, 'coz you only have to deal with one card and as soon as you smell a rat you can close the account and transfer it to a different number.

Oh and since I work with call centers quite a bit, I'll tell you that yelling at people will not have as much effect as being polite. Simply because the call center agents (people on the other line talking to you) are sometimes being cussed at a rate higher than the speed of light and the one polite person forces them to be nice and they feel obliged to help you in _any_ way they can.

Just my $0.02.

PaySystems is a third party processor. Thousands of stores use them. Whenever you buy something from anyone that uses paysystems the order shows up on your statements as paysystems. We've used them for a while until we moved to a merchant account and they've been great.

Believe me, a merchant cannot process your credit card unless you give them the number so I suggest before running to the bank and issuing a charge back that will hurt the merchant, try to remember if you bought anything online lately, or try asking everyone in your household who has access to your card including your kids.

Please do your research before posting here.

This is a big mess... I don't know who is to blame for it, but the person at "my pay systems.com", that I spoke with.. told me that my incorrect billing was for something ordered from "PetCare.com", just under $100.00. In as much as I don't have any pets, and have not ordered anything relating to such..there must be a problem somewhere. It isn't on my part, and the billing was totally uncalled for. I protested the billing, and cancelled my CC and ordered a new number, etc , . Just in case. Too bad that a legitimate business if they are one, has so many problems in verifying the billings, and charges, etc. Hopefully if they (mypaysystems.com) are a responsible business they will stop these errors.,before the errors lead them into bankruptcy.

81. "Huh? Faulty Logic Warning!"
Posted by Stanford Griffith on 15:31:20 7/17/2004
Just because a company is sometimes legitimate does not mean
that it always genuine: At times, it may wrongfully charge people
or be used to fraudulently charge people by certain venders. Do I
think that a bad company can exist for many years, well, DUH!
How long was the financial company The Associates in business
before Citigroup bought them out right when they were under
federal investigation for their shady business practices? Even a
company with a poor BBB rating can remain in business
unharmed for years and years. For that matter, scammers can
stay in business for many years due to help from positive
comments and vague text, see below.

Maybe it’s because I work in the financial industry, but think
about how faulty your own logic is before you speak. Consider
doing your own research on multiple companies before you
apply your non sequitur conclusions to one.

After doing my own such research, I found that the company
may (or may not) be legitimate except that they do seem
somewhat lacking in the customer service end. That being said, I
think that the main issue is that MyPaySystems is likely being
used at time by scam artists to fraudulently charge people’s
accounts, which is apparently happened to me. (VISA is taking
care of that for me though.)

As a final note, I am curious how those with such glowing
comments came across this forum. Generally, one only finds
such a list when they are looking for a company due to negative
interactions. That is to say, why were you doing a search on a
company with which you have had positive dealings, supposedly
for several years? It seems to me that until the reason for the
original search is clarified, that the positive comments are
suspect. Many companies and scam artists either enter their own
wonderful comments online or pay others to pump up their
company’s image in a smoke-and-mirrors effort. How do you
think that those who do not follow through on eBay bids have
such great comments here and there while they have negative
ones throughout? A little butter on burnt toast sometimes masks
the visage of the charred bread but not its flavor.

Just my thoughts as a financial analyst with a journalism and
criminal investigation background. I welcome yours.

Posted by Stanford Griffith on 11:08:23 7/20/2004
A careful read would tell you that I never indicated that
MyPaySystems is not legitimate. However, I do know that the
charges on my account via its system were not of my own doing.

If you will re-read my message, you will see that my comments
are mostly generally based about business and logic and are
*not* directed toward MyPaySystems. In fact, my *only* direct
comments about MyPaySystems is pretty neutral and gives the
company plenty of wiggle room in its own practices:

"After doing my own such research, I found that the company
may (or may not) be legitimate except that they do seem
somewhat lacking in the customer service end. That being said, I
think that the main issue is that MyPaySystems is likely being
used at time by scam artists to fraudulently charge people’s

With a half reading, .... Well, never mind. Unlike you, I won't
comment on you as a person and send negative thoughts your
way in your career. However, do note that I did apply logic to my
reply and to others. As for investigation, I do that before I wrote
in, and found that although the Canada-based company is not a
member of the BBB even though it has several offices in the
states, it has resolved all the cases with them.

As you pointed out, yes, MyPaySystems is an ISO, similar to
PayPal, but I also commented on that, just without the acronym:
"I think that the main issue is that MyPaySystems is likely being
used at time by scam artists to fraudulently charge people’s
accounts, which is apparently happened to me." MyPaySystems is
used online merchants to charge others. Those merchants,
however, may not all be legitimate. Meanwhile, maybe
MyPaySystems should check on the legitimacy of any business
and transaction they have their name attached to. But that is a
policy decision for them, not us.

I do hope that during your time abroad or when you return, you
will re-read my previous message and understand what I wrote.

I am, however, glad that you posted how you came across the
forum. By the way, the website is, not surprisingly,
mypaysystems.com or paysystems.com.

When I checked at the BBB, they weren't listed.

Here's why: MyPaySystems from Canton, MA, appeared on my credit card. That is the company I checked on, and it is NOT a member of the BBB: http://www.bosbbb.org/reports/reliability_report.asp?FirmId=0000090986 .

According to BBB.org, these are NOT members:

PAY SYSTEMS
16000 W 9 Mile Rd
SOUTHFIELD, MI

PAYMENT SYSTEMS MERCHANT SERVICES, INC.
(PAYSYSTEMS.COM)
1017 Turnpike Street, Suite32A

FIRST DATA CORPORATION
(PAY SYSTEMS OF AMERICA INC.)
2525 Horizon Lake Dr #120
MEMPHIS, TN

PAYSYSTEMS, INC.
7075 Wymore Rd.
ORLANDO, FL

These, however, ARE members of the BBB:

PAYSYSTEMS.COM INC.
334 Cornelia Street #160
PLATTSBURGH, NY

SHEAKLEY GROUP
(PAY SYSTEMS OF AMERICA - A SHEAKLEY COMP)
100 Merchant St. Ste. 100

PAY SYSTEMS OF AMERICA, INC.
100 Merchant Street
CINCINNATI, OH

PAY SYSTEMS OF AMERICA, INC.
1321 Murfreesboro Rd. Ste. 100
NASHVILLE, TN

Does PaySystems just have several different AKAs or are these actually completely different companies with similar names? Some of these companies have different websites, so it’s hard to tell. I could probably look it up or do some checking, but since VISA credited my account for the fraudulent charges, I guess it doesn’t matter. I’m just curious.

Thanks.

89. "paysystems not good"
Posted by Vic on 02:51:59 7/28/2004
To whom it may concern,

I've had an awful experience with a merchant account company called
Paysystems (http://www.paysystems.com). Everything from the
(unmentioned) holdback charge where they hold about 6% of your sales
for 6 months to the 11 weeks of having my money and not paying me.
Plus, their customer service is terrible. Every time I call, I have
to go over my entire issue with them. It's like they don't keep
anything in the computer.

Their customer service system has big trouble with letting you talk to
a supervisor. Plus, they don't generally allow you to speak to the
Settlements department. I spoke to them once, but it was a miracle.

Paysystem's settlements ONLY go on Thursdays. If there is a problem
with something, they don't care and they won't make a settlement on a
different day. You'll have to wait a week.

Right now, they are holding a lot of my money. Their system wouldn't
work with my business savings account. Someone should have been able
to diagnose this problem far sooner than they did. I called my bank
and Paysystems many times and nothing worked; each time, I waited a
week in between attempted settlements, of course.

They were finally able to make a single settlement into a different
bank account. However, the customer service agent promised me that I
could email him Friday with the results of the attempted settlement
and he would immediately make ALL of the other settlements that
bounced back. Well, he was nowhere to be found last Friday. Now,
it's Tuesday and I still haven't heard a word from him.

In short, Paysystems deserves two big thumbs down. They would NEVER
be able to conduct business like this in America and get away with it.
Things are obviously MUCH looser in Canada. If you need a merchant
account, then look elsewhere.

PaySystems operates out of both Canada and the US and has an excellent track record with merchants. They remove anyone that makes the company look bad and maintains a good profile because of this. All reputable companies do well with PaySystems and fact will prove this with little research. As with all payment processors there are certian protocol and rules that are set into place, if you want to do business with a company they need to be followed.

91. "Paysystems"
Posted by Les on 12:59:11 7/31/2004
I have used Paysystems in a merchant capacity for about 12 months now. I moved to them from Paypal because I read numerous stories about Paypal freezing merchants accounts. Paysystems have been very good - good response to support requests and no chargebacks. It's true that they holdback 5% for 6 months to cover possible chargebacks but this is not unique or unreasonable for internet payment providers.

Regarding those of you who have had spurious charges against your credit cards and blame Paysystems, realise that Paysystems are a legitimate credit card processor and it is not in their interest to deliberately accept fraudulant use of your credit cards - but also realise that they are providing a service for their merchants so if the transaction passes their security checks then they have a right to accept it as a valid purchase. If you have experienced fraudulant use of your card go to your credit card provider and request a chargeback and then cancel the transaction at https://cardholder.paysystems.com/

One final point - when you buy from xyz.com it is actually Paysystems that appears on your credit card statement so be very sure that you haven't actually made a purchase before you shout about fraudulent use of your credit card - afterall credit card fraud is still actually very rare.

93. "MYPAYSYSTEMS forced to terminate its internet billing account"
Posted by Amie on 18:50:30 8/09/2004
mypaysystems.com has completely stuffed my business over. See the letter I just received:

IMPORTANT NOTICE : myPaySystems Forced to Terminate its Internet Billing
Account (IBA) Services Effective Immediately

Dear myPaySystems merchant,

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we must terminate our myPaySystems
Internet Billing Account (IBA) services. This unfortunate situation is due
in part to, restrictions imposed by the VISA/MasterCard association on
processing of Internet credit card transactions by third party billing
companies, and, our acquirer Pago eTransaction Services GmbH/Deutsche Bank,
suspending our accounts and accelerating the termination of our IBA
processing capabilities.

All merchants currently processing through an IBA will no longer be able to
process transactions and we are forced to give notice that effective
immediately, August 9, 2004, your myPaySystems IBA Agreement is terminated.
Further, as per section 9.3(e), notice is given that all funds must be held
pending risk review of each account. At this time no release schedule is
available, as each case attracts its own risk profile. There are also
external factors which require final determination. Once we ascertain the
resolution of your risk scenario, your funds may be released in the normal
course.

As we valued your business, we pursued all possible alternative processing
options for our merchants and had implemented a transition plan to migrate
all of our qualified merchants from a myPaySystems IBA to their own
merchant accounts. It was due to the sudden actions of Pago eTransaction
Services GmbH/Deutsche Bank that we were unable to complete the migration.
If you continue to require online payment processing services you may
contact other payment processors that provide similar services. Searching
for "process credit cards online" in any search engine will provide you
with possible alternatives.

At this time PaySystems will only accept written communication concerning
this matter, addressed to:

myPaySystems
attn: Legal Department
1500 University Ave., Suite 920
Montreal, Quebec
Canada H3A 3S7

We would like to extend our sincerest apologizes for any inconvenience this
may cause to your business. We thank you for your patience and
understanding during this difficult time.

Sincerely,
myPaySystems Management

I am a merchant also and just had the same email. Apparently it only effects 3 of my orders that were placed on a specific day, but there seems to be no quick resolution to the issue. All orders placed before and after that date (July 26th) have all been settled appropriately. I am currently sending an email to my three effected customers to have them research it on their end through their creditcard companies. I am honestly not sure what I should do. I run a very small company and something like this could really hurt my company as well as my customers. If there are any merchants out their in this same position with any suggestions I would really like to hear them.

Thank you,
Scott

I don't understand why legitmate merchants would want to use a third-party gateway.

Get your own merchant account with a honest to goodness real bank that is FDIC insured.

If you need help, send me an email. I have contacts that can get most everyone (including those with some bad credit history) their own merchant account...generally 2.49% discount rate.

>I don't understand why legitmate merchants would

There are some very small startups who just aren't going to
sell all that much online and can't justify the monthly fees
of a full merchant account. Or they have a questionable
credit history that keeps them from getting a merchant
account.

You could argue that such people shouldn't be in business
in the first place... but it is a free country. And third party
services fulfill the needs of these shoestring operations.

One of my clients is a comedian who sells copies of her
audio CD online. She is a perfect example of a legitimate
"business" that cannot justify paying the fees of a full
merchant account -- at least not yet.

I received thiscommunication from them but am
cosidering legal action. Since August 04 they teminated
our account and a holding 7000.00 GBP of my
companies money despite the fact that we delivered
our product to our clients after our account was frozen.
We are a UK based adventure travel tour operator.
We also have not been able to access the website
listed.

Dear myPaySystems Merchant,

On behalf of PaySystems, I am writing to update you as
to the release of your myPaySystems account funds. At
this time, we are confident your funds will be returned to
you but we cannot predict the length of time it will take.
We understand your frustration and the impact this may
have on your business and want to assure you that we
are doing everything in our power to return your funds
as soon as possible.

I am aware that there are theories circulating that
PaySystems voluntarily terminated the IBA services.
This is categorically false. We incurred no financial
gain from the termination of the popular myPaySystems
IBA solution. On the contrary, we have suffered
irreparable damage to our business and reputation.
The shutdown of the IBA was initiated by our
transaction processor, Pago eTransaction Services,
who not only abruptly terminated processing services
for myPaySystems accounts, but also froze access to
your funds on August 5th, 2004.

I also understand that many merchants have been
having difficulty reaching us since the shutdown
occurred. This is due to two reasons. The first is that
we had to significantly reduce expenses and resources
related to supporting the popular myPaySystems
ecommerce solution. With a limited number of
employees, we simply did not have enough staff
available to communicate with each merchant affected.
The second reason is that Pago was (and still is),
providing very little information as to when the funds
will be released.

Another current misconception I would like to clarify is
that PaySystems arbitrarily imposed chargeback fines
and penalties assessments. This is also untrue. In
October 2004, approximately 26% of our merchants
were notified of chargeback fines & assessments.
These fines originated from Pago and the credit card
associations, and we had no choice but to in turn fine
those merchants having surpassed maximum
chargeback thresholds.

I would like you to know that PaySystems is steadfast in
its commitment to return your funds. To this end,
PaySystems is now spearheading litigation, the primary
objective of which is to obtain funds for redistribution to
all affected IBA merchants. PaySystems will be paying
all of the legal costs of this lawsuit while giving you the
right to recover up to twice the amount owed to you at
the time of final judgment. We will be making available
within the coming weeks, a copy of the legal
proceedings, as well as your Funds Distribution
Agreement, whereby you will be given a direct right to
recoup sums owed to you on a prorated basis from the
damages awarded pursuant to the lawsuit.

We would like to once again reiterate our profound
regret in our unsuccessful attempts to secure and
release your funds and vow to you that we will continue
to aggressively pursue Pago in this matter. We are of
the unwavering opinion that Pagos abrupt termination
of processing services for all myPaySystems account
holders was done in a manner which is contrary to the
requirements of good faith and in violation of Pagos
obligations towards PaySystems and its myPaySystems
account holders.

In the interim, we have published a website at
www.paysystems-vs-pago.com that will provide you
with complete details of the situation with Pago and will
be the ongoing source for updates. If you wish to speak
to me, I will make myself available. Simply send me
your phone number through the contact form on this
website and we will make sure to get back to you.

Jet99 Is An Illegal SCAM. Damon Westmoreland Is A CROOK
********** NEW INFO ************

Damon Westmoreland: Judgments > $1,000,000

Damon Westmoreland (owner of Muzumah.com, BestOf.com and partial owner
of Jet99.com) is buried in debt resulting from his illegal scamming in
the Tele-Card and Caruba scams. As reported in Offshore Alert, a
newsletter on international white-collar financial fraud published by
www.kycnews.com, Damon Westmoreland has incurred over $1 MILLION in
tax liens and civil judgments. Public records show no less than 11
judgments again Mr. Westmoreland, one alone $692,207.00 (File
#980411328, San Diego County). This indicates that King Pyramid
himself walked away with plenty of $ while his victims got nothing in
return.

ThePayLine.com Link

Most interestingly, Damon Westmoreland is in Phase Two of his travel
scam career. Does anybody remember ThePayLine.com? ThePayLine.com
was another "travel and cash rewards program" that was shut down in
2001 by the US Postal Service for perpetrating MAIL FRAUD. The San
Diego BBB linked DAMON WESTMORELAND to this former incarnation of the
Jet99.com SCAM. Please see the BBB warning:
http://www.sandiego.bbb.org/commonr...compid=27002208

An article about Damon Westmoreland's ThePayLine.com scam (Jet99 Part
I) from another highly credible source, Infoworld:

brother):

JET99.COM Members: Does This Sound Familiar?
(excerpt from the InfoWorld article)
"
[Postal authorities seize the cash flow of the Internet outfit known
as PayLine.com]
PayLine made incredible promises through its Web site and a
sophisticated e-mail marketing campaign. First, you'd pay $200. Then
you'd sign up two other members. After that, you'd get a pro rata
share of 50 percent of all the money received from future members, to
be divided among older members.
In addition, you'd receive one free "travel mile" for every member who
joined after you, whether or not you'd personally enrolled them.
PayLine promised thousands of miles of free airline tickets. More than
290,000 Internet users had "preregistered" by e-mail as of the last
time I checked a digital counter at the site, which I believe to be
accurate.
"

It looks like DAMON WESTMORELAND is rather unimaginative. The only
thing he changed from ThePayLine.com to Jet99.com was the fact that
the US Postal Service cannot touch him this time around, because he is
now using the Internet for all monetary exchanges. What the scammer
failed to realize is that he is not out of reach of the State Attorney
General and the FBI. While Damon imagined himself as being clever
this time around, he did not stop to think that unlike past US Mail
deliveries, all electronic financial transactions are 100% traceable.
Both credit card transactions and electronic checks are stored
indefinitely in databases that can be subpoenaed by law enforcement
agencies. Hey Damon, one step forward, 99 steps back!

Jet99.com's Damon Westmoreland – Facts Everybody Should Know

If you are considering investing with Jet99.com, then you owe it to
yourself to first study the past and present criminal activity of its
principal Damon Westmoreland (owner of Mazumah.com, BestOf.com and
partial owner Jet99.com).

Fact, as stated on the Jet99.com conference call: Damon Westmoreland,
CEO of http://www.mazumah.com/ is also an owner of
http://www.Jet99.com. Only under pressure did he admit to this
connection. Mazumah.com was previously represented as an independent
legitimate funding service. The fine print indicates that Mazumah.com
simply acts as a "trustee" of your money, as they are not a licensed
financial management service or depository institution. Because
mazumah.com facilitates its payment through private labeled ATM/
check-cards, they demand that you supply your SSN and date of birth,
plus of course your street address. This enables the Jet99.com
pyramid/Ponzi scam to victimize you in an identity theft scheme after
they take your initial $119. Do you want Damon Westmoreland to have
your sensitive information? Read On!

Aside from the fact that Jet99.com and Mazumah.com are one in the
same, Damon Westmoreland has been busy hustling pyramid victims for
the past 10 years or more. Here is a long list of revelations…

Tele-Card Network

FTC takes legal action against Damon Westmoreland for running an
illegal pyramid scam. Scroll down to Tele-Card Network:

Other Various Pyramid Scams

Damon Westmoreland also connected to other pyramid scams:
http://pub122.ezboard.com/fduedilig...picID=592.topic

He has already been involved in many pyramid scams, all of which have
flopped as all pyramids do. FortuneTel is only the tip of the
iceberg. He has also been involved with a number of other failed
pyramid scams in the San Diego area: Resultz for Life, Payline, etc…

Better Business Bureau Warning About Damon Westmoreland

If you think that this article is being highly prejudicial against Mr.
Westmoreland, please see that the San Diego Better Business Bureau has
to say about Damon Westmoreland's merchant services company:

http://www.sandiego.bbb.org/commonr...compid=28009119

Damon Westmoreland's rating with the San Diego BBB is UNSATISFACTORY,
but you'll be even more interested in what the BBB has to say about
Damon Westmoreland's Mazumah.com (AKA Jet99.com):

http://www.sandiego.bbb.org/commonr...compid=30002299

Yes, another UNSATISFACTORY rating!!! Remember that this is the
organization that you will be handing your SSN, date of birth, street
address and everything else required to take you to the cleaners!

Damon Westmoreland's Illegal Scam Known as Caruba International

What's more is that Damon Westmoreland used to be a principal of
Caruba International, a sleazy offshore "banking" and High Yield
Investment Program scam. The state of Alaska took legal action
against them for (1) running an illegal pyramid scam, and (2) selling
unregistered securities.

Offshore Alert, a subscription based publication specializing in
exposing fraudulent offshore schemes, uncovered and published many
horrifying revelations about Damon Westmoreland and his Caruba

Damon Westmoreland is an owner of Jet99.com, he owns Mazuma.com (the
"3rd Party" funding operation), plus he owns BestOf.com, the so-called

Before launching Jet99, Damon Westmoreland attempted to disassociate
himself from BestOf.com. After all, BestOf.com is used to legitimize
Jet99.com. In a failed attempt to cover his tracks, Damon changed his
online press release, but he failed to remember that search engines

I'm not related to mypaysystem, but I can tell you what is going on in the online payment industry.

There is an epidemic of credit card fraud originating from Malaysia, Indonesia, Romania, USA, Thailand and the United Kingdom

Majority of the fraud comes from Asia.
The problem is, these fraudsters have all the information: zip code, CC number, name and address of the card owner so nobody could detect it's a fraud not even your credit card companies.

Payment processors are in serious trouble due to this and I can tell you this will impact online payment system in the future
I can only sympathize with mypaysystem because we had similar experience, but was too smart for the fraudsters, we only lost couple of money to chargebacks and not a single dollar to fraudsters.

113. "filter by country"
Posted by Dan on 05:40:45 2/15/2005
hell-o
most people in the us don't or wont ship to most of these countries. most products are available to the people in these countries either locally or from a supplier who is closer and most likely would be cheaper to the consumer to do business with. as a merchant you can filter access to your website based on country which will reduce the potential of carders testing your merchant services for the validity of a name/number. the issue of proxies comes into play next. proxies from countries such as these should be filtered as well. you can also filter according to referrers. if no referrers are returned then no access or at least not allowed to checkout from your store.

on a personal, consumer level it is imperative you check out each and every charge to your cc. anything suspicious must be reported and contested. if you don't monitor your billing and report and contest then there is no way cc companies can keep abreast of trends and issues to deal with this activity.

one other thing is to apply for a cc with an extremely low credit cap. keep it low. don't allow the cc company to increase the cap because you're a "preferred" client. use this card only for online purchases and keep the balance high.

always either type urls in the address bar or get a program such as editpad lite which is a plain text editor similar to notepad but with more features. it's 32 bit and not tsr. when a url is typed into this program it's click able. i save all of my important links to cc acounts with user/pass and other information to a plain text file and use editpad for a click able link to go where i need to. do not trust browser bookmarks or webpage links or email links. if your credit card company sends you an email asking you to login for any reason then either use your text file as a click able link or if the url is different then call them on the phone and get a verbal url, type it in the txt file then click that link.

keep current databases with your anti virus program, anti spyware such as adaware and do online scanning on occasion with a competitors online free scanner. for example if you have norton then go to panda and use their online scanner.

keep informed and use your head. check and question everything.

dan

Hello,

I work for First Data merchant Services. We are the global leader in payment processing. Feel free to do your due diligence about my company at www.fdc.com and www.fdms.com

or you can do a simple search on google on First Data. We are a fortune 500 company.

115. "blame the credit card processors ... not true"
Posted by Roxy on 13:50:31 2/16/2005
Hi Dan, the mypaysystems problems has nothing to do with the credit card companies or fraud screening. This company knew what they were doing was against the credit card associations policies on factoring. They were processing transactions for companies other than their own. This is again the rules. They were closed down by Pago (Pago eTransaction Services GmbH)(www.pago.de ) the processing company that Mypaysystems was using until they were caught and closed down. Unfortunately many small businesses were hurt by Mypaysystems actions.

120. "David Westmoreland at it again?"
Posted by steve L on 05:15:21 4/18/2005
there is a new site in the works call GreenZap, it's supposedly to take on PayPal. If you look at how it works it's a pyramid scheme.

it has been posted on freeauctionscript.com that it is being run by David Westmoreland, but I have yet to find the proof myself.

If it's true, BEWARE!
