peopple to come to my shop?
Thanks Carol :-) :-)

Mail out colorful brochures to the Admin Assistants at large corporations. Address them to : Administrative Assistant, Sales Dept (and Marketing, HR, Finance, etc).

Years ago when I worked at a major telecommunications company I started using a local cookie bouquet shop and a local bakery for all different occasions. Soon, all the different departments started using these same businesses and those little businesses flourished.

Taking actual bouquets, as previously suggested is great too. But that could get costly for you and it would be difficult to get to each department of a large corporation. But that idea would be great for smaller companies.

Carol, you might want to partner with companies who sell products that are gift-basket worthy and offer, by drop-ship, gift baskets for their customers. For example, we partner with several gift basket companies who make specialty baskets with barbecue themes, weddings etc.

I would agree with the above posters that you really should consider getting out to chamber meetings and networking with local business owners. The more they see you and hear about you, the more likely they will be to consider using your product/service.

I would also agree with Tina that finding a few good joint venture partners could do wonders for your business. If you find even one good company with a large client base, and let them use your baskets and possibly some of your products along with theirs in a basket to give to their customers, you could find many new people coming into your store when they need a basket of their own.

Some things to think about: What kind of products would go well in a gift basket? Which local companies are offering products like that? What would you say to these companies/owners to get them to consider partnering with you? With the right approach and the right thought put in, a few good partners could make a world of difference in your business.

Good luck in your ventures,
Curtis
