"Need Help - What do you think of this idea?"

Hi,

Everytime I go to a wake, I make a remembrance candle like the one in this picture. Scroll to bottome of page.

The funeral home always lets me set them up and light them and people are constantly suggesting I sell these.

Please let me know what you think?

Interesting. I think you might have to build it through word of mouth. Perhaps you could do candles for weddings also. They could burn it on anniversaries. I think it would be harder to build a business around wakes as compared to weddings. Also you could do birth candles that announce about the childs birth or at baby showers.

Just think the wake thing might be too small of a market.

I think that it is a great idea. Becuase they are not the sort of thing that would have a sell by date, thus meaning that you would not have anything to loose. I think with the correct application of pressure you could get contracts in order to have a constant flow of these.

When my father died there were lots of candles and bits like that which were brought to our home. There is a market for it. I live in ireland and religion is a key part of everybodys lives most shops you go to will sell a whole variety of candles and pictures of the virgin mary.

So my opinion is that you would be crazy not to give it a shot. What have you got to loose?

Regards,

Dan
