I am very happy that I have found this forum as my wife and I are looking into setting up a new baby store, with a storefront and online presence. We are having trouble in finding supplier information, and were wondering what tips people can offer on how to go about finding suppliers. We want to sell a variety of baby supplies, mostly higher end but are not sure where to start. We have looked online but are having difficulty and any help would be greatly appreciated!

A couple of botiques I've worked with (Children's / Maternity) get most of their inventory "at market". Check out America's Mart in Atlanta. www.americasmart.com Many of the vendors are listed online.
There are more in NY, CA, TX and other places I'm sure.

If you can get there, you need to see the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas Sept. 7-10. I just spent 6 days in Vegas at the ASM/AMD merchandise show and am trying to find a way back for the ABC. Over 700 vendors in the kid's industry will be represented. www.ABCKidsExpo.com I also frequent AmericasMart in Atl and products are great but getting closer to the manufacturers is ideal. Prices tend to leave low margins but worth the look. Similar markets are in Dallas, Chicago and NY. There is no charge for the ABC show if you have a tax ID. Shows like this one are offered at several venues and dates all year. Keep in touch with other buyers (like me!) and share expenses and resources. Julia www.StorkandVeil.com
