"how to start classes for toddlers, but not daycare....."

Do you think starting classes for toddlers, maybe called Corporate Kids meeting 3 times a week say 9 - 12:30 and 1"30 till 5:00 would attract many people? It would be structured and be outings planned, everiything from pumpkin farms to library readings. It would get the kids out and about adding a little cultural, and at the same time give the mom a break during these times. Priced very reasonable perhaps %10 a child per day. I know this would not be for working parents but what do you think, I only need 5-6kids per class, even if I just start out with one session. Tell me what you think...... And does anyone know of anyone who does this and what they charge and do?
Thanks for your comments....

I think it is a good start to a great idea. The name Corporate Kids doesn't come off as the best name for me though (just my 2 cents). I think if you are catering to stay-at-home moms (like a Mothers Day Out that we have out here) you need to think of a name that is just that (some time off for the Moms). I would call around to places by you (giving you prices around here wouldn't do you much good)and see how much full time daycare as well as parttime dare care would be to compare. Is this something out of your home or in a facility? I always thought that gutting a bus and making it into a traveling gymnastics or daycare would be fun. You could do MWF in one area and TTH in another. Of course checking ins and stuff like that if you were driving the kids around would be a necessity. If you have 1/2 day kindergarden by you that is always a need (before and after with pick up). Keep the creative juices flowing!! Good Luck

Your idea is excellent, but I tend to agree with Laura about the name. Children learning, exploring, expanding their horizons would be images I would use with brainstorming names. I love your concept, though!

Mothers who work part-time and those who have home-based businesses might also be interested in what you have to offer.

Good luck!

I like your idea. When my children were young, I started a
playgroup for young children with a friend of mine. We met
once a week and did various activities with the children. We
did it with the mothers. It was great for the kids to play and
socialize with their peers, but also great for the Moms to
meet and enjoy adult conversations.

I think parents would be interested. I don't know of anyone
that does that type of class, but I think the need is there.

Good Luck.

I believe it will attract busy working mothers in need of activities for the kids. You can also try to create a reading club, toddlers really enjoy books with short interesting stories and lots of pictures and fun. But I do agree with what has been said before, try to work on the name...

One of the first things I was concerned with was insurance. Once you start taking the kids out and about, who will cover this?

I like the idea though. Especially if you market to families a little better off.

Maybe you could even start with one child as sort of a nanny. That way you could start small and grow as you learn.
