"Starting an online community-please critique"

Hello all,

I have started an online community for moms..www.hipmamaclub.com. I am trying to get site traffic. I am new to this and don't really know what to do. I subscribed to the google adwords and I have a contest for people to receive a free prize just for joining the community. But how do I get the word out?

Please visit my website and see if there are any changes I should make or if I should add more content.

Thanks so much!
Cam

Cam;

Great site. I would email the link to everyone I know asking them to please forward it to every Mom they know.

If your children are in day care, sports, scouts, or any activities, I would spread the word at those activities about your site. Ask for their email address and see if they will let you send them the link. When you send them the link, ask if they would please forward it to everyone they know. Don't discriminate. Guys know women who would be interested in joining your online community.

Another suggestion is to post on message boards related to children. Post reviews on products that you have used on websites for Toys R Us, Target, Walmart, childrens furniture stores, book sotres, services you have tried, other people's blogs, etc. Get creative where you post. If you have a specific opinion about a bike (for example) then go online to every place that would sell that bike and post your review. Don't just post on the site where you purchased the product. Be sure to include a link to your site every time you post.

As far as your site I would ask a "Tell A Friend" button on every page of your site. Make it easy for people to send your link to someone.

Best of Luck to you!

Suzanne

Suzanne,

Thanks for the wonderful input!!! I am going to start exploring different boards I can post today. I also love the idea of spreading the word at places like daycare. With as many parents I see day to day, why didn't I think of that:)

Thanks again!!!
