Hey All- I am winding thru developing my business plan, which is good, but way difficult!
I have a VC person (who is a friend, maybe an investor...) looking at it for content/viability and his first suggestion was to put in an exit strategy. I was gonna do that, but since I have never seen one, I haven't a clue what it should read like. I have scoured the web as much as I can and I am stymied.
Can some illustrious person out there link me to a site that may have examples of such??? The main site I have found a lot of content for my plan was BPlans.com, but I haven't seen what I am looking for. Thanks in advance.
Exit Strategy is defined as "a plan to maximize the return on your investment when you decide to leave the business."
There are various options. I will give you a few and hope that an idea will work for you.
1) employee buyout 2) passing it on to your children 3) the real wealth will be created once you grow to a certin level and sell the business. In this case, you need to identify the buyer up front if possible. 4) Business has annuity like returns - in this case you may not need an exit strategy because you will be generating income in your retirement 5) selling off equity (private or public)
