People on this board are always talking about a variety of sample business plans that are free on this website. When I check out the obvious places, I only find links to the business plan pro or books. The business plan pro only has a "peek" at some of the business plans they sell and there isn't any sample plans for what I do. I have a lot of books and I don't want to buy any more software. So where are these free samples of business plans?

Keep in mind that sample business plans are just that...samples. They are fine for getting a general feel for how a business plan should look and what it should contain (assuming they follow the generally preferred methods by the SBA).

However, do understand that you MUST create your own unique, individual, custom business plan for your own particular business needs. SBA and SBDC reps know at a glance if your business plan was created using a canned template or sample. They don't take too kindly to that. Part of qualifying for a business loan is proving your abilities to run a business. Creating your own business plan is one of the first of many hurdles that you must cross on the road to business ownership.

Naturally you won't find a plan for every specific type of business, but you will probably spot one close that can be adapted. Yes, these are provided courtesy of bPlans; if you want more help, info or the software to do your own, you can link to that from each sample.

Please keep in mind, it's highly unlikely you'll find a sample anywhere that you can safely just copy in entirely and use. Since each business is unique, each plan will need to be also, but viewing a related sample can help you get started on creating your own plan.
