as to how much money it takes it depends on the building, inventory you need and what not, you ask how can you make money if you only want to manage it, easy you could provide all the equipment, and then rent out chairs to the stylists that actually do the hair cuts, this would be to cover utilities, shop costs, and then what ever you want to make.you could also make all the money off of supply sales.

Hi, Totally agree with the answer above. How much money is required depends on how big or small you want to go. This will be dependent on the equipment... how many chairs do you want to start with, hair dryers, plus products (moisturisers, shampoos e.t.c.). How do you make money managing it? Again, just as answered above. I trade in Hair extensions and I am a qualified hair extensionist. Should I want to rent your space, say 1/8th of your floor space, or just a chair, for the sake of clients who would rather not be visited in their homes, then that's how you will make money off me. Depending on how many chairs you start with, you can diversify the salong and have a barber, hairdresser, hair extensist, eyebrow specialist e.t.c.

I can't quote an exact figure since I am not aware of your business details. Cost depends upon many factors that you need to take in to consideration before coming to the final conclusion. The place that you require, inventory, resources, assets and much more.
I think you should first make a business plan and then in the end you will be able to come up with an estimate of the required figure.
