"website"

There are so many website and free websites out there I don't know where to start. Is there a host that is better than the others? Is there a good place to start.

Be very careful of the cheapo sites that offer you templates and inexpensive monthly hosting. I've heard (and experienced) horror stories from some. A good way to avoid hassles is to buy your own domain name. Don't let an outside company buy your domain name for you.

Check out my site below for a recommendation on website builder/host that has an excellent reputation and is reasonably priced.

It just depends on your criteria and requirements. If it is a simple site, you can get by with a really cheap host, if it is an ecommerce, you will need to spend more money. However, this is one where you can have unlimited storage and unlimited transfer from only $4.95 http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-3573499-8242916

Good luck!

Don't even consider the free websites...they are not respected at all and it would destroy your credibility as a business.

I would recommend getting a host...here is the 2009 Web Hosting Reviews...http://www.thetop10bestwebhosting.com/ and http://www.thetop10bestwebhosting.com/

I use IX Hosting (#6 and #9 respectively)and have been for 2 years. They are pretty good. When you open an account you get a free domain name, so register what you want from them.

Then I would look for a web designer to build you a simple web site to start. I am kind of a DIY-person, so I installed Joomla and built my own simple & clean website to start.

Thanks eputkonen for posting the actual webhosting reviews. Very helpful. I was looking for info regarding a reliable host and this helps.

FWIW, Justhost.com is currently rated at the top of the list and is running a special for $3.95 per month. Is anyone else using this company, and if so, what has been your experience?

Thanks,

Jaye2L

I use lunarpages.com myself, they have affordable solutions.....

If your website is informational, go for one of the free websites....I've seen quite a few that are popular.

You may want to check out Doteasy, I've used them for different sites of mine for years. They have a package where you pay 35.00 to transfer your domain then you get hosting for life free. That includes 10 web based email accounts under your domain as well.

Good luck,
Sondra
