"What is the proper way to put a kit together?"
Wed Apr-02-08 03:20 AM by bemyownboss

I have an idea for a kit that has numerous items in it, for convenience. Kind of like the DocuDent kit, which is an accident kit a guy created that has a camera, flashlight, whistle, etc. for properly documenting an accident scene. Like the Docudent kit, I want to brand the various items in my kit with my company name and sell the kit to the public. My concern is do I have to contact invididual manufacturers of each item and get permission to put the items in my kit, even if the items are for resell? I hope I am making sense. Example, if want to include a camera in my kit, do I have to contact a manufacuter that makes a camera and pay them to use the camera or can I just buy cameras in bulk that are for resell and use them as I please without breaking any law?

If you buy it....you can resell it. But the key is to buy it wholesale. So the only contact you would need to make with the manufactuer is where to buy the products wholesale.

Good luck with your venture and if you get started soon you may want to check out a business development workshop that can help with that type of issues and any other start up needs. Go to www.buildabusinessworkshop.com
