"Looking at sales staff to get in clients"

So I'm starting up a web design business and looking at getting my start up client base. First clients in. So my idea has been to telemarket to get some clients in. My idea is to offer a free consultation to potential customers and to get some telemarketers to sell this and get some meetings.
I have been having trouble getting good staff. Even if it is just 1 or 2 sales guys that well can commit. I'm thinking of drafting a contract. Iv found many can commit, but they need lots more training. And then 1 or 2 have said yes, they have good experience but have then backed out.

Ah yes, the problem of finding talent...this is a struggle for every company.
As for telemarketing, please keep in mind that telemarketing is regulated at the federal level and anyone that you have doing this on your behalf should be following the law, because you will be the one help responsible. Rather than finding and hiring people directly, you may want to partner with one of those "appointment setting" firms that already have the staff and training to handle the sales.

Hmmm. Here's the thing: The old saying goes, "I am training my competition..." Finding good help is always paramount, and can be daunting. So, advertise for EXACTLY what you want. Say it clearly, write it to the bone. Ask for what you want. And, are you offering compensation (money) that would make you blush IF you were offered the same? Would it be what YOU would want to earn/make? Think about it. So much of the time, people cheap-out on pay and bonuses and so on. Don't be cheap, cuz IF you do go cheap, well, you will get cheap. Pay a lot, and you will get a lot. Make it strong, and you will get the strong. Make it smart, you will get the smart. Yeah, sure, contract is good, all the stuff in writing, clear, and then, even more clear, so no one can be saying, "Gee, I didn't know that..." Do NOT hide in cryptic cross word language when it comes to your contract between you and the people who you want to work with you. I hope this helps.
