"Next step money needed." Tue Mar-06-07 08:01 AM by Double J
I've been making and selling RC rock crawlers for about a year now and would like to take it to the next step. I would like to get the cash to purchase new equipment, and be able to stock pile products and supplies as needed to have a quicker turnaround. Amount needed would be in the range of $5,000 to $10,000.
A little info about what I do. I've been making Competition Rock crawler chassis and have just introducted a scale chassis. I also make custom Tube frame rock crawlers and other custom parts such as bumpers, roof racks and what ever else customers request, I also provide powder coating to the comunities I'm apart of online. So far I've been able to stay just about even, by taking the money made and investing it back into products. I Purchase a minimum amount of parts needed but would like to make larger orders on parts to help lower my costs and make a better profite so that I can start making money. I would also like to be able to purchase and sell some electronics and other parts needed (suchs as shocks, transmissions and so forth) for this "hobby" market as it is growing constantly. I'm also wanting to get my website (www.1doublej.com)shopper ready.
some sites you can look at to see what it is: www.rccrawler.com , www.scale4x4rc.com , www.warcrc.com. I'm a vendor on the first two listed. I have a great feed back and am considered one of the top fabricators on the sites.

You are going to need a business plan. Work with your locl small business development center & they can point you in the right direction for financing.

Got the BP done, just need the cash now. Thanks for the input. I've worked with the local SBDC as well as attended their functions/classes. They have some great insight but they are really not that good at sending someone to get the money, more on what you will need to get the funding, such as a good BP and financial plan/summary.

Have you talked with your local bank? Since the amount is so small, maybe just do a personal loan. Do you have any assets that could be considered collateral or have a family member who could provide you with the money?
If your credit is good, there are many firms who could help you. Search the internet. I did & I'm getting a bit better response for funding.
The money is out there, you just have to find the person who agrees with your plan and projections!

You should be able to pull that out of a Signature Loan from you bank. Or you could refianance your house and pull some money out. One of these two ways should work for you.

Since the money you are asking for in purchasing your equipment is quite small i may be willing to make a loan available to you. But you must have tried out all the options suggested to you in the forum and if there is still no way out, i will be willing to help. contact at marvin4info@yahoo.ca
