I am planning to start a small business. I know it's going to take a lot of time; I have all the time in the world. I would like to invest a lot of money into my idea. I am willing to do what it takes to make this work out.
Can I get some tips on starting this? Like, do I have to get a business name registered? What things do I have to do to legally sell pictures online? What things can I Wright off on my taxes?

I think you should start with your business structure. What best suits your business then you will be able to find out what write offs are available to you.
As for registering your name think of it this way if you spend alot of money advertising your business you want your brand to stand out so registering is very advantagious for you.
What do you mean by selling pictures online? Please tell a little more about what your wanting to do? Best Regards John

I ran across an article somewhere that said that if you want to know how to register a business name... go to your bank and tell them that you want to setup a business account... and that they can provide you the forms or contacts within the local areas to properly register the name.
There's information about this also on the US Patent and Trademark website.
