We have a vacant office space in a large building (to whom I
work for) and it lies 4 miles south of a busy public road with
a Shopping Mall located on that strip. There are several
Starbucks, Barns and Nobles, and a few coffee shops in this
historical district of town.
Anyway, a group of us have decided to bring the committe of
our building in and offer them an idea to fill up the extra
office space. The idea has to benefit the employees who work
in the building and also generate enough revenue to pay their
share of expenses and help with the building's lease.
My idea is to have a cafe' in there with us. The idea would
to have be moderized, decorated with comfortable sofas, cafe
tables and chares, desks, dim lighting, a cafe' bar and be
filled with light earth tone colors and whites. I want my
idea to be pefect. I also insist on having WIFI access so
that customers can bring their laptops in and continue theier
work on their free time (eg, lunch breaks, etc).
I figured the company would start out slow, at first so not
many emplyees would have to be hired. I thought maybe 2 per
shift, one having management responsibilities and the other be
a general customer service rep. Both employees will have to
be trained on how to make the coffees, espressos, cappecinos,
etc the most precise way and they take fair part in prepping
the machines each day and maintaining the drinks that people
order.
What would be some tips I could get by doing this? How can I
prove this as a successful turn out to convince my committe to
do this? What other things will I need to know and be
prepared for, before I present this to the committee?
My presentation is on Sunday. tls
