"bilingual daycare center"

Besides being in the primary stages of a tutoring business, I have also come up with the idea of a bilingual daycare/childcare center. I would offer a bilingual curriculum as well as sign language for babies, music, movement, language and literacy. What do you think of this ideas? Where do I start? I need advice.
Thanks.

I think this is a fantastic idea. The most prohibitive thing for you would be cost. Running a day care center is pretty expensive (because of the labor requirements) so you would really need to consider whether you have people in your area that can afford this cost.

You will need to check with your state (and local) licensing and regulations boards to determine what the requirement are. Most states have rules about how many workers you need per child. You will also need to buy liability insurance. I would also recommend that you at least get an LLC (incorporating would be best) to cover you in case someone does sue you.

In terms of funding, you should check with the SBA, your state, and your local commerce ofice to see what grant and loan programs they have available. You will need money up front because you'll need to pay rent, get the licensing stuff take care of, and most importantly, advertise for clients.

Good luck!!
