So I have this idea of opening up a cafe that is very small scale. It will be a take out establishment. The bulk of the menu will be food from the crockpot. The challenge of it all will be to make healthy and fresh entrees from the crockpot but I know it can be done. Would anybody out there love to eat at a place like this?

In my state, the health department absolutely hates crockpots because the food remains in the temperature danger zone too long.

We LOVE crockpot cooking in our home! There are many great recipes and you just prepare it and let it do its thing...

I hope you can make it work. I would at least try it. I find that our customers are HAPPY that our food is homemade so really emphasize that fact. Your idea sounds good and likely to be a lot of "comfort" foods. GOOD LUCK!!!! I agree with the first post check out the health guidelines. I also think that maybe some of the others are right and dont pronounce that it is crockpot food but make it to where it is homemade in your name. Maybe then some would not conjure up cheap and easy and overcooked. Just a thought
