Living in the Northeast, at least half the year is torturous for outdoor sports enthusiasts due to the cold weather. There is one air supported dome in the city which is used partially as an indoor driving range & other times used for other sports & events (ex: soccer, little league baseball, children's birthday parties, etc).

It seems like the place is always packed when I go to drive golf balls. According to some of my friends, after the open range hours when the "other" activies begin, the place is still a zoo.

Does anyone out there have any feedback on this idea? A similar facility in your area?

Preliminary research suggests these structures cost approx $5 to $15 per square foot to build with an additional $2 to $4 for construction. But, I foresee several other start up expenses such as raw land (sight for dome), site prep (leveling, etc) field turf, range equipment, soccer equipment, legal costs, marketing, etc. I would roughly estimate 750k start up, plus the need for some working capital.

If you've had any experience with this size of a start up, again any thoughts would be appreciated.
