It sounds like a good idea in principle.
You'd want it set up like an MLM, something like Avon or Mary Kay cosmetics. Moms would have trunk sales, the kids would come to a party and model the clothes, the moms would purchase the clothes the kids like? Or you could use a magazine or online website.
Think it through all the way and you may have a winner!

I think it sounds good - your biggest issue would be finding Mom's to sell for you. That may not be so hard though - you could visit some of those Work at Home Mom sites such as wahm.com. Actually, that is probably where you want to ask this question because they, in fact, would be your consumer . Also, the savings/money that you would generate for the mom's (and the income you would generate in your own community) would be a huge incentive for the mom's here in the US.
Good luck!

Very interesting concept.
Are the clothing range limited to 5-10 or are you able to source newborn-5 aswell?
You will probably reach a wider customer base with the younger age group as many at homes mums are mums to under fives. Many mothers are heading back into the workforce once children hit school age. Just something to keep in mind! If you cater to both age groups then you are covering all your bases so to speak.
Have you considered your business model? Tina's suggestion of selling in a similar fashion to Avon and Mary Kay would be effective. You will have to do your research and create a method that will work for the people selling the product. Your credibility will be based on a proven sales method that gets results.
Please feel free to ask for more advice as you further your business plan.

sassy Hello, I just stumbled upon your business idea. I want to sell kids clothes as a homebased business. I don't have small children anymore they are all grown and on their own. My children have friends with kids,or their friends know other people with kids. You will need to sell newborn and toddlers clothes also. Have you started yet? Email me at vmillions@aol.com
