What does your business do?

I am in the process of becoming an entrepreneur and the proud owner of a convenience store in Wendover, UT, my adopted home town since I emigrated here from Peru in
1984. I came here with nothing and now I am about to realize my American Dream. I started as a convenience store janitor and sometimes sales clerk & I worked my way up
to manager. Now that store is up for sale. It is time to make my move, but I have not decided if I will buy the shop or buy a property & start from scratch. While the existing
store has the advantage of a loyal clientele who know me well, the other option will allow me to design a store the way I want and add a gas station which will bring many
people in. The new store would also cost significantly less and I am leaning towards that idea. Either way, I will be in the grocery business, selling food & sundry items to meet customer demand. My experience with clients, vendors &
management will see me through to my goal to be a uccessful business owner.

How would you use the grant money?

I would use the grant money to buy a new computer and office supplies for my new business.

What would the grant enable you to do that you can't now?

The grant will help me tell my community that I have a new store in town and we are open for business. The publicity and advertising will be a huge boost for my new shop.

If Idea Cafe's Grant helps your biz reach greater success, how will you "pay it forward" to help others in some way?

If the Grant helps us reach greater success I will pay it forward with a scholarship for local high school students. I wish to help them seek a successful future with a good education to start them off.
