Working on b-plan for ice cream biz, but in a quandary.

We want to make gourmet ice cream, but start up costs for equipment is expensive. What's your thoughts on purchasing pre-made ice cream to generate revenue for short term then moving into in-store production?

This will be a frozen dessert only biz focusing only on core product...no sandwiches, etc.
