I'm thinking about opening a niche consignment store. There's definately a market for it and I think it could be successful. My question is for anyone that has or has owned a consigment store before. I'm trying to get an idea of what type of sales to expect and/or profit. Although, I would be in a niche market. It would give me some basis to work of off.
The other consignment stores in my area are packed to the gills with inventory and all seem very busy. i have no clue how many customers per day/week. Average sale, etc.

I have worked with a few consignment stores, a very important thing is to be strong about telling people that the merchandise you are taking in has to be good quality...not soiled or torn...keeping it mid-to high end seems to be where to profitable ones are. also, if things are not selling, have a time limit on when they pick it back up...many more ideas, but dont want to waste the space here.
