Ok so I have a problem that needs some advice. I currently have a great start up business, a business plan, location (on the busiest street 2 blocks from Indiana University in the downtown area), vendors etc all set for an Eco friendly Irish themed coffee shop. My problem is financing. I have hit many a brick wall while trying to acquire the money I need to secure everything. Does anyone know of or had experience with any lenders that are good to work with. Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

Financing a problem with many businesses right now. Take a look here - http://community.business.gov/bsng/ - there are many discussions about where to get finacing.
My advice would be to talk to your local credit unions. See what they can do for you. At this time, they are more likely to work with you than are the larger banks.
You could also consider contacting local attorneys that do Angel financing or investment planning for their clients. They are always looking for places to put their money. Generally, it's not coffee shop type things, but it's a place to go
Best of luck!!

You don't say how much funding you need but Preneuraholics.com might be a funding source you can try. (See below) This is peer to peer funding specifically for small business start ups. It is NOT loans so your credit history is not a factor. It was created especially for those that have not been able to secure traditional funding.

Some ideas on financing:
-Try your SBA site, loans are hard to come by but some financing may be available.
-You can try a posting on the gobignetwork.
-You may try other restaurant owners in other cities that are looking to expand if you provide equity and/or percentage of profits.
-Family, friends and pitch your idea with a financial plan asking through connections of who may be interested in making a % return in # time. -Try asking around with other restaurant owners with similar size coffee shops but different concepts how they got there financing.
