What are your skills?
Regardless of what business you start, it's going to take years before you see a profit. I think you might be better off to look for companies to 'sponsor' your school.
Here's an article talking about companies sponsoring athletic events - http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1571/is_13_18/ai_84804839/ - maybe you could use a similar approach. That is, maybe you could get a company to sponsor a class or even a chair in a class?

Go to www.myhomeoffice.ws to watch a 7 minute movie that explains a company that could generate an on-going residual income for the school. Students themselves could do the fundraising.
