I work at a school that is being eliminated due to school
funding. I am looking for ideas to start a school business
that will fund our school.

What are your skills?

Regardless of what business you start, it's going to take years before you see a profit. I think you might be better off to look for companies to 'sponsor' your school.

Here's an article talking about companies sponsoring athletic events - http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1571/is_13_18/ai_84804839/ - maybe you could use a similar approach. That is, maybe you could get a company to sponsor a class or even a chair in a class?

Best of luck!

If you are in the US or Canada I can help your school with a candle fundraiser. We have tons of schools that do them and do quite well.

Here is a fundraising idea that I've thought about a ton, but haven't tried it yet. Go to www.myhomeoffice.ws to watch a 7 minute movie that explains a company that could generate an on-going residual income for the school. Students themselves could do the fundraising. This product sells itself and provides income month after month. Let me know if you have questions after going to the website.
