"Chocolate"

I came up with the idea of a party plan business, where I direct sell chocolate to customers at 'chocolate parties' (similar to Tupperware-type parties).
I will source the chocolate from local manufacturers, so it will not be the chocolate that can be bought in stores.
Each party will have samples for customers to try before they buy.

Would you enjoy attending a chocolate party like this?

yes I would however just so you know Dove chocolate already does this with their Dove At Home Chocolate parties so the idea is really not new. The other thing to consider is do you really have the money and experience to create a new company on your own? Wouldn't it be better to just become a distributor of an already existing company?

:) Thanks for your feedback.
Yes, Dove does do this, but they do it in the United States. I am in Australia.
There is a company that do direct sell chocolate, and I did consider applying to be a distributor but I decided to start something on my own, as the existing company make their own chocolate, and I prefer to source product from existing companies - the theory is that we can promote each other.

I think that's a great idea. I LOVE chocolate. But, maybe you could expand to other things - other local candies so people have variety?

But, it doesn't matter whether I would like it - do you have people who are willing to try?

I would recommend you visit the forum at http://wahm.com. There are many work at home mom's on that forum that do similar parties. They may be able to provide you more feedback on what works and what doesn't.

Good luck!

i would like to give you one suggestion, as my relatives are in this business from last 6 years, if you want to start a chocolate business, start 1st with ice-cream business, generally there is less investment compare to chocolate business, i'll suggest you read few articles at http://www.1moneymania.in/ . . . there are many people who have started small business, you can also put your question there....

thanks,
Rohini
