Hello, I am interested in teaching young girls how to braid hair. I have been braiding for years ,including adding extensions, etc., and willing to teach this to anyone who wants to learn. They will learn hands-on tips and techniques that celebrities have used for years. Do you think this is a service that parents would pay for their daughters? This is a skill the girls will use and need for life and be able to teach their children, grandchildren etc. You do not have to be licensed in Illinois to braid hair. Cosmetology schools do not offer this service. I taught my daughter how to braid and now she makes money part time doing it. I appreciate your comments and suggestions in advance. Thank you

I would promote it as being a home business. I think its a wonderful idea. A lot of these young girls need something like this to do, from 14 years old on up. I would let them feel what its like to make their own money, maybe keep them out of trouble and head them the right direction. Go for it sweety, from what Ive seen of a lot of the kids out here, nobody is teaching them anything.

VW, Thanks for your response. This would be a one day workshop. I have given a workshop before, but it was for a teens Bible study. It worked out well. The girls were eager and excited to learn new techniques. I realized that this is something that girls wanted to know. There were girls there from different ethnicities. It was my pleasure.
