Miscellaneous forms
• Form 8829 Expenses for Business Use of Your Home
Not to be used by employees, partners, farmers, or inventory-only business use of your home, but other Schedule C filers who work from home should use this to compute business expenses that will be entered on Schedule C.
• Form 1099 Miscellaneous Income Information Report
Each January 31, whether you are an employer or non-employer, you mail this form to each independent contractor your business paid over $600.00 to last year. A separate 1096 form is the summary sheet you attach to the 1099 copies you send the IRS.
NOTE: 1099 Forms can’t be downloaded from the IRS site because they are multi-part carbons, so you must order them in advance (or buy commercial packages from an office supply store at the last minute).
Here's the full step-by-step on "how-to" and "why-to" for sending out 1099 Forms.
