What does your business do?

Flour and Salt Bakery serves the community in Hamilton, NY by bringing innovative, interesting, and delicious baked treats to town, including a true NY-style bagel. A rare find in Upstate NY! The bakery is currently a small-production company, but will be expanding to a full-time retail space in the summer of 2016 so that community members can have access to delicious food as well as a warm and welcoming atmosphere on a daily basis.

How would you use the grant money?

We would use the grant money to fund the production of the full-time retail space, whether this be covering equipment or construction costs.

What would the grant enable you to do that you can't now?

The grant would bring Flour and Salt one step closer to opening a full-time business in town that will add significantly to the quality of food and commerce in Hamilton.

If Idea Cafe's Grant helps your biz reach greater success, how will you "pay it forward" to help others in some way?

Flour and Salt plans to allot space in the shop to other small business owners so that they can sell their products and benefit from the bakery's storefront. We will also do our best to use locally sourced ingredients in all of our food.
