What does your business do?

A Space To Grow celebrated its official grand opening in the fall of 2014. Created out of a soulful vision of Buffy Owens to create a space in the Capital Region that was more than a business, but a space to grow community. A space to develop meaningful professional and personal relationships. Where like-minded practitioners can support one another in growing their life’s work and passion by sharing and collaborating together.

It’s a space for practitioners to come together as friends and professionals to support each other. Our services tend to cross over which allows for creating special bonds and relationships of unwavering support for each other as practitioners and as well as the clients we serve. We feel it is important for our team to have a deeper connection in order to provide such support.

A space bustling with mindfulness and mommy groups. With mediation, movement and personal development classes of all sorts (from infant classes to holistic health counseling and beyond). A space that is safe enough to be home to support groups, sacred enough for spiritual pursuits, and playful enough for your kids (or your kid inside) to exude a joyful ‘yippie’ as you begin to walk up the stairs.

A Space To Grow is an unconditional safe space for families no matter their make-up. One of our goals is to eliminate the confusion of where to go in Capital Region for complete family support for all stages of life from fertility, pregnancy, family support to radiant health & well-being.

Our conscious collective brings you a variety of monthly workshops, weekly classes, and personalized services. Whether you are seeking to enhance your well-being, deepen your meditation practice, or thrive as a family—we can offer you the support & community you desire.e

How would you use the grant money?

We would use the grant to create weekly experiential videos such a short guided yoga nidra class, natural preconception tips, mindful parenting tips, short conscious movements videos and more. In general each practitioner would have an option to create a series of videos to share their expertise.

What would the grant enable you to do that you can't now?

The grant money would allow us to be able to hire a virtual assistant who specializes in video editing. In turn this would expedite the process and allow us to launch the series sooner and potentially greater a larger variety of videos as some of the time burden would be relieved and thus we would be able to focus on teaching and filming.

If Idea Cafe's Grant helps your biz reach greater success, how will you "pay it forward" to help others in some way?

There are so many ways to pay it forward. First, we look forward to the fall launch of a bi-yearly low-fee clinic for families with children with special needs & extraordinary gifts. Second, we hope to be able to pay it forward by assisting & supporting other new businesses and practitioners through donating space or offering it on a sliding rental scale.
