What does your business do?
Provide retail/wholesale high-quality beeswax candles.

How would you use the grant money?
Grant money will be used towards the purchase of product materials and packaging supplies, as well as website hosting.

What would the grant enable you to do that you can't now?
The grant would allow me to purchase high-quality, food-grade beeswax and packaging materials. I have already resourced beautiful glass jars with lids, beeswax from a local North Carolina apiary, as well as candle packaging and labels.

If Idea Cafe's Grant helps your biz reach greater success, how will you "pay it forward" to help others in some way?
Before I created my business, I had already decided to give back to the community. Not only will I be sourcing beeswax from a local farmer, promoting sustainable living, but 5% of the total online sales will go to one of four charities: March of Dimes, Wounded Warrior Project, ASPCA, or St. Jude's Children's Research Center. Upon each purchase, customers will decide which charity benefits from the sale. This not only benefits the charities, but also empowers each customer to make a difference and, perhaps, prompts him/her to 'pay it forward.'
My company is a company where everybody wins. Beeswax, a wonderful, sustainable product, is sourced from local farmers. The product, itself, has been shown to improve breathing, helping those with asthma or allergies. Beeswax is the ONLY form of wax that has been scientifically proven to release negative ions. When burned, the negative ions bond with positive ions (dust, allergens, pet dander) in the air, trapping them. My product is all-natural and emits 0 toxins into the air, unlike many other candles, which may have color or fragrance added. Beeswax candles provide a light, sweet fragrance, perfect for aromatherapy use. And beeswax candles typically burn twice as long as any other wax candle.
Portions of each online sale will go to one of four charities, as mentioned above, empowering the consumer to 'pay it forward.'
