What does your business do?Horsepower Inc. specializes in the motorcycle industry. We manufacture aftermarket throttle bodies and related products engineered to provide our customers more power and performance to complete their EFI build. We design and manufacture a wide variety of products that include throttle bodies, intakes, air cleaners, injectors, push rods, and much more. We are also Erie's only certified dyno tuning service center.
What would the grant enable you to do that you can't now?The Idea Cafe Biz grant would allow us to update our service center. There are always ways to better organize the building and make small updates to keep things running smoothly and look better. The updates and extra equipment would help our employees and the look and feel of our business location.
If Idea Cafe's Grant helps your biz reach greater success, how will you "pay it forward" to help others in some way?Horsepower Inc. would "pay it forward" by supporting our local community. We have always worked with the tech school by hiring young, aspiring machinists directly out of graduation. The kids get a lot of experience by manufacturing at our shop and can also get experience in the service area as well as with working with customers. We feel strongly about keeping the manufacturing in the U.S. and will continue to do our part in helping to make that happen.
The winner of the third voting round is Jamie Zeff, owner of Zeff's Tattoo Parlor. Congratulations on his well deserved win. He received 19% of your votes and naturally emerged as the third monthly winner
Zeff's Tattoo Parlor
What does your business do?We perform high quality custom tattoos to our clients and unlimited potential success to our artists. Artists pay a minimal flat booth rent to pay for operating expenses rather than a commission fee which usually generates profits for the owner.
What would the grant enable you to do that you can't now?Being awarded this grant would enable me to purchase furniture to make the shop more appealing not only to clients but also to talented artists. It would allow me to buy educational books and videos for the shop so that the artists can continue to progress and gain expertise in their trade. I could also pay for seminar and certification fees. I believe in investing in knowledge.
If Idea Cafe's Grant helps your biz reach greater success, how will you "pay it forward" to help others in some way?If Idea Cafe's Grant is awarded to Zeff's Tattoo Parlor, it will be used to create an environment in which artists can be the sole benefactors of the wealth generated from their efforts. It will be an environment where a person feels motivated to work their hardest knowing that they will get out of it what they put into it. It will be an environment that breeds self pride.
