"Need a Name for Nonprofit"

Hello,

I am starting a nonprofit for families. My goal is to help inner city and rural residents overcome poverty and become self sufficient. I plan to do this by connecting them to resources (G.E.D. completion, college entrance, or job training). In short, I plan to do this mainly through stressing the importance of education.
This is a Christian based organization. We will welcome all and do not force our beliefs on others. The goal is simply to make life easier for those who need our help.

I want the name of the organization to represent our purpose - showing love, care, compassion and offering a hand up instead of a handout.

Names I've considered included:

Love without Limits (a site for adults has the domain).
(didn't want people to get confused if I got a similar name).

Living Our Dreams (already taken by many)

Extreme Hope Foundation (taken)

Other Ideas
L.I.F.E. (can you help with this acronym)

D.R.E.A.M.

L.O.V.E.

Any ideas? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,

Sherry

Hi everyone.

I think I have a name for my nonprofit.

R.E.A.P.
R - Restoration
E - Empowerment
A - Achievement
P - Purpose

What do you think? It covers everything I want to do to help families. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Sherry.

I think you have chosen a great name for your nonprofit.
Anytime I hear of people trying to reach out and help others,
it lifts my spirits!

I am trying to start an organization focusing on helping women
who for various reasons are trying to get back into the
workforce. Do you mind sharing with me how you went about
getting things off the ground? That's where I'm stumbling. I
know what it is that I want and what my goals are, I'm just at
a lost on the "HOW."

The name of my org. is
S.T.Y.L.E.
S - Successfuly
T - Transitioning
Y - Your
L - Life
E - Effectively

I wish you much success in your endeavor.

Tonya

Hi!

Sorry this is late. I love S.T.Y.L.E.

The name is great! Well, I am still getting my organization up and running. The first is a charitable event in November (Indianapolis). My approach is to partner with other groups who help people.

As far as forming the nonprofit. I have set up on paper. Right now, I'm preparing to incorporate with the state while looking for my board members (I plan to start with a couple of members). Next, I plan to file with the IRS for exempt status 501(c)(3). While I am doing the business end, I am putting together a direct mail package for churches, social service agencies, clubs, or any groups that help or work with women and their families.

I am always looking for others to share ideas with. If you are interested email me anytime. Thanks again for the reply!

Hi tafortson,

I'm sending you a private message about your nonprofit. I wanted to ask if your nonprofit is faith based. Mine is a faith based but open to all with no Bible bashing, just help for your needs. I support groups faith based or not. But if a group is faith centered, I want to do some brainstorming to see what works or doesn't for your group.

Please email me at

Sherry,

First of all, I wish you the best of luck. You're doing wonderful, worthwhile work.

Here's a suggestion for a variation of what you've created with R.E.A.P.

R - Restore
E - Empower
A - Achieve
P - Purpose

Verbs often have an even stronger impact. With marketing materials, too, it can be good to have shorter words. Less space and easier to remember!

Here's something else if you want to throw it into the mix as well:

R.I.S.E. -

R - Renew
I - Inspire
S - Succeed
E - Excel

Hi Nancy,

Thank you so much. I love R.I.S.E. The suggestions people have offered have been helpful in a number of ways. A few (future projects)are in the works because of ideas for a nonprofit name.

I think the R.I.S.E. covers every aspect of what I am trying to do.
This is the name I want to go with (with your permission).

You have a great site!
Your business is just what I need. I plan to host conferences and expos (some women only/others for the whole family). I need ideas, marketing/advertising help.

I will send contact you through your site to discuss your services.
You can also email me with details:

scheria05@yahoo.com

I look forward to working with you. Thanks for responding and for the new name of my nonprofit! God bless you.

Sherry
