"advertising through newsletters?"

Has anyone had experience with advertising through newsletters? I was thinking of co advertising with other businesses through their newsletters.
My idea is that I would put a small paragraph and link about their business in my newsletter and they would do the same for me.
I would like to know if anyone has done this?
I look forward to hearing from you.

Newsletters are a nice but the cost of design/layout, printing and postage may outweigh the benefit. Pairing up with another business to exchange columns is an excellent idea, it works much like a referral system because it will be delivered by a trusted source.

My recommendation to you is to go ahead with a newsletter but send it via email. Condense the newsletter into an HTML email and use links in the email to read the full story on your website. A Blog is perfect for this, you can set up a blog like WordPress (http://wordpress.org/) to post the rest of the article, not only will this be more efficient but add to your search engine traffic as well.
If you have any questions about HTML email or blogs send me an email. Some information about blogs from our website: http://enginesofcreation.com/blog-design.cfm

Best of luck!

You how to evaluate what they charge you against the demographics and circulation count.

Then I would only try it 2 times and evaluate your response versus cost.

It depends on your business and what type of newsletter you are advertising in.

We have a newsletter feature ability enabled through our shopping cart software on our web.

All good intentions aside, we have been using Constant Contact for over two years now and although the program itself is worth every penny, make sure that you have the time to dedicate to putting the newsletter together regularly or have the employee who can dedicate the time to it, you are better off hiring a VA or Copywriter to put together your newsletter for you and send them regular links, info, etc. that you would want in that document. Also, once you've published (whether on paper or on the net), hardcopy it to your website immediately, so that it is always available (I am remiss in having done this) -- it will add great SEO to your site.

Before you start, know that the road to a cyber black hole for newsletters is paved with good intentions.

Good luck with it.

I would suggest doing an e-newsletter. I use YMLP and it's pretty cheap and also offers a free trial (Im still in the free trial period). You use a template, enter your information and then schedule the newsletter to be sent out to your customers on your mailing list.

What is your business?

Best of Luck!
