"looking for ideas"


          

I need some help. I just I just opened a dog day care center 2 months ago. Things are going ok but slow. I am looking for any ideas how to get people to come in and see my day care. I dont have much money, so I am looking for ideas that are not expensive. Pleas help!

I have some friends that have the same business - They had the local papers cover a local "celebrity" dog wash day - customers would take their dogs to get washed by the celebities, take pictures etc and make donations to local charities. It was HUGE for them...They did it outside like a carwash.

Hi again Darla. I've replied to some of your other posts.

My all time favorite marketing tool is the FREE press release.

When I had my retail shop I sent out a press release that I wrote myself to the local newspapers. One picked it up immediately (within 20 minutes of receiving my email) and they sent out a reporter and photographer a few days later. The other paper took longer, but eventually they too did a 1/2 page write up with color photos. From those articles, several more newspapers picked up the story and wrote their own articles. This continued for a full year! Also, I sent the press release to prweb.com and a tv station picked it up and called wanting to do a story on the franchise.

If you haven't already done so, write your press release. Here is the book I read and followed. I highly recommend you get it. I'm sure you too will have similar results! (Scroll down to Advertising/Marketing)
