"guerilla marketing"

Ok, here's the deal.

I'm starting a photography business, but I'm having trouble coming up with marketing ideas that won't break the bank (seeing as it's pretty small to start with). Anyone out there have any productive marketing ideas.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Start with people or companies already using photography services, offer them trail specials/services (but show them a variety of photos that would appeal to what they need)

I think flyers are the best way to go. Remember Guerrilla marketing costs A LITTLE money. Your flyers will need to be full color (try overnightprints.com) Or better yet-- order 4x6 post cards.

Just literally go around, introduce yourself to people and let them know what you are doing. I think photographers need to go head to head with Wal-Mart... use the same tactics they do... offer an $8 package then upsell the #### out of it-- we always spend $100 when we leave there and that is for maybe 30 minutes of work and $10 of prints.

Of course for any business the most important thing is doing a GREAT job and giving great service.

Thanks,
Berry

It's always good to build a network for referrals. If you're doing wedding photography, nail salons are a good place. Figure on at least 5% (min $25) referral fee.

Here is an idea that I am using/developing. This comes under the heading of Viral Marketing. Personally, I think of swine flu or a cold when I hear the word Viral, but you will probably need to incorporate it into your marketing plan.

BlogRadio. This is a FREE service where you can host a weekly radio show, complete with advertisement that YOU GET A PERCENTAGE OF. You must register and if you want to want to participate in the revenue advertisement sharing program, fill out that registration, it's separate.

Place a link(supplied FREE by them) on your webpage. When someone clicks the link, they are taken to the blogradio site and hear your recorded radio blog.

If you use blogradio and need some help or have questions I would be glad to help.
