Eva,

Given your type of business generally doesn't have a lot of hard assets loans can be tough to obtain, especially for working capital.

Do you have a strong businessplan? If not, now would be a good time to develop one. A well done businessplan should tell you if the business in fact is a good one. Everyone isn't...sometimes no matter how much money you can throw at something it simply is not going to be sustainable. Yet the same exact business in a different locale would do great with less investment.

The assumptions I'm going to make is that you don't have strong credit, a wealthy family member or friend you can go to etc.

Under these conditions if it were me, I would develop a thorough businessplan...not one just to sell the idea but one to let me know if the business is viable...you want to be as objective as possible during it's development. After the plan is finished it should show you how much you'll need.

I'd rent a meeting room at a local hotel and invite everyone I knew, family, friends, acquaintances, pharmacist, anyone that may have a little spare cash. Have a few inexpensive refreshments and a copy of your businessplan for everyone who attends. Give a good presentation of the history of the business, and the fact that you're selling shares in your company. Have your CPA work with you to value their investments. You can have it structured where they get an equity position, sharing in profits until the money is repaid, or they can continue on as passive investors.

Say you need $25k. Trying to find a family member or friend with that kind of cash to risk can be hard. However, maybe 5 people can come up with $5k each or 25 people can each come up with $1k. You can be creative.

I hope this helps...

Denny
