"New business idea"

Hi guys, let me throw this at you. How about a kids salon that can also be available for kids parties (mostly girls) and while they wait the mothers can have a :30 massage (facial, body). Time can be extended. The main focus is the kids. Doable or too much in one place? Any advice would be helpful.

Wow. Very ambitious. But, yes, too much in one place.

While it sounds like fun, running such a business would be a nightmare. You would need to hire people with expertise in both hair styling and massage (obviously). While that is certainly doable, you would have too many regulations to adhere to in one business. Sure the big guys can do it in a spa setting, but that takes hundreds of thousands of dollars in capital to start and run such a business.

What about a kids salon that offers mini makeover parties? The moms can hang around to take pictures and they can shop for beauty products while they wait. Much easier than trying to handle massages for multiple women in one time frame.

Write up your business plan so you know how viable your ideas are. It's amazing when you put everything on paper just how much it takes (finances and resources) to start up a business. So don't start with an idea that is so big it might be impossible to get it off the ground.

You're on the right track though!
