"start up funding"

I am looking for some info on getting help starting an individual business. I have poor credit at this time so loans do not seem to be an option and many of my family members do not have the finances I would need to start my business with. Also is there anyone who could explain to me what venture capital is? Is it like a loan or more like a grant? Thanks any helpful info would be appreciated

Rain

Funding a new small business can be very difficult if you don't have the money yourself. Probably your best bet is peer to peer lending like Prosper.com. You don't have to have good credit (it helps, but it's not required).

You need a partner with good credit.I suggest building up your poor credit.
