Has anyone owned or visited a metaphysical store? I live in a small town and thought about opening one. There would be candles, teas, charms, lotions, enchanted items, etc. Also to attract more customers, I would offer dream interpretations, Life Coaching, psychic investigations, intuitive counselling, and spirit cleansing. Any thoughts???
Maybe you could start at your house? I am what I like to call an intuitive (physhic just has a stigma now a days) just as yourself. I do numerology charts/astrology in my free time. I too agree that these types of stores are challenging unless you have an incredible client base already. Stones/crystals are big for healing and cleansing. Maybe look into having an event in your area where there can be booths set up (like an expo) only for the metaphysical just to see how many in your community would find this interesting before opening a store. If it reaches a lot of people and they are interested in your metaphysical "expo" then that is a good sign demagraphically speaking. You could even reach out to the intuitive that does the Aura Pictures to be at your event and people like such. The aura pictures are fantastic and he is quite the intuitive for he also interprets the colors or lack of in the pictures. It is awesome. If you need help I can get permission from my best friend who is a nationally recognized "psychic" if you will, and she knows how to get in touch with anyone metaphysically including the aura guy. Let me know. Crysta email@example.com.
Yeah I agree with that. I think it's the kind of business that's hard to sell. But if you want to take the risk, then why not? My dad once told me that business is all about risk. If you will enjoy it and if it's your passion then maybe you can pursue. But then, I will definitely advice to start a survey first before anything else to get the pulse of your market.
Opening a metaphysics store ENTIRELY depends on your location. Certain more industrial areas do not invest in that type of rhetoric, while other more 'hippie' towns if you will pretty much live and die by that type of commerce.
I recently moved to Oregon from Michigan, and the contrast couldn't be any stronger. People would never dream of ever visiting a metaphysics shop in Eastern Michigan, while you'd be hard pressed to find a single person in Portland who hasn't visited one
Different areas of the states have incredibly different mindsets. Just like any business, location makes all of the difference in the world. In addition, some areas prescribe to the entire idea more than others. You'd be pretty hard pressed to open one of these shops in a bible community, while some areas are more open to different forms of spirituality.
This business can be incredibly profitable, you just have to know where to open it.
