Hi! I am starting a business where I go into other peoples homes. I spend a few hours preparing dinners for the week. I package them and put them in the fridge and freezer ready for them to eat....NOW...my issue is..I need ideas on getting clients...I am on a VERY limited budget so I am looking for creative ideas that are low cost or free...I advertise on craigslist...word of mouth...any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

I wanted to put together a "cooking club" just with my immediate neighbors and did. We came together once a week and decided ahead of time which house to meet at. We combined our money to buy ingredients in bulk that would enable us to cook for an entire month. We would freeze the meals and always had weeks of dinners already prepared. The cost was cut down more than half of what it cost for just me to shop and cook. Saved a ton of money with our cooking club and enjoyed the time together just us girls once a week. Maybe you can do the same only use some of the food you prepare for the freezer meals you would like to give. great way to save lots of money!!!! Also, you can look into recipes that basically make two meals out of one. Like meatball sandwiches one night and the next take the leftover meatballs cut them into pieces add a little more sphagetti sauce pour over cooked rigatoni cover with a layer of grated cheese and bake in oven for a totally different meal. Save money this way too. there is a website that has tons of 2 meals out of 1 meal recipes. Do a search for 2 meals out of 1.

Any business is hard at the start. For now, whatever business you have, you should make an inventory to avoid excess products or items to go to waste. For example, target at least 10 houses in two hours. how much time do you spend in each hours? and how many items can you offer them? these kind of inventory will save you money, time and effort. Aside from that, prepare business cards, flyers, join school fares to meet new possible clients.

My wife did this business for about 5 years, the first clients were from the website, after that it simply became word of mouth. Build a good quality key word enriched website to start.

You have a Facebook use it. Post pictures, daily tips, anything to get your posts in the newsfeeds of your friends. Any social media can help you spread the word. You can even create a page for the business and invite your friends to join it, but you need to post almost daily or even 2-3 times per day so that you can generate some excitement.
