My wife has been a stay-at-home Mom for decades. In addition to taking care of our children and our first granddaughter when her Mother returned to work, she helps out in our home-based business.

I focus on the customer contacts, outside sales, marketing, and networking, while she keeps up with Order Entry, answering the phone, checking on customer orders, requesting samples and catalogs, and general office duties.

I couldn't be as effective if she had an outside career. So, the income our business generates is because of the time and effort of both of us.

Unlike employees, we both enjoy flex time, setting our schedule and work around our personal and family priorities.

And, we've never had to worry about layoffs, downsizing, etc.
