557, Web Hosting Quandry - Suggestions???
Posted by Dizzy, Wed Apr-11-07 02:37 AM
Hey All,

I have recently set up shop with Startlogic as a webhosting company because two hosting review websites put them in the top 5 for service and dependability. I beg to differ. I have had a trouble ticket in for 8 days now with no acknowledgement. I also tried their live help which wasn't helpful at all unless telling you to put in a trouble ticket is helpful. I am not here to bash the company but I wanted to give some background as to why I am looking elsewhere. My website is my online business card to the world and if I can't get it the way I need it then it is of little use to me.

Does anyone have better service from their web hosting company? Enough to recommend them to me?

Thank you for reading.

Hi Dizzy,

I can relate to your frustrations with web hosting service. In my most recent experiences with hosting companies, two of them really stand out.

1) www.godaddy.com ? They are a large hosting company that offers many tools and services. Their prices are very affordable.

2) www.websitesource.com ? Great company to work with. Always answer tickets in a timely manner. Easy to cancel accounts or make changes.

I hope the above information helps out. Best of luck with your current situation!

Regards,
KC

We recommend to all our web design clients to use www.bluehost.com. We use them for our own website too. Their hosting is cheap..starts at $6.99 a month and you get a free domain name if you sign up for 1 year.

Our clients have been very happy with them and their customer service has been top notch!

Hi,
I use a web hosting company called Cyberhosted. their address is http://www.cyberhosted.com. I have been using them for almost a year now. They have very good rates, 99% uptime, offer shopping carts, php, mysql, and so on.

Their support team is great. They treat you more like a friend than an support ticket number. I have no complaints about them, and would recommend them to anyone. Their site might not be the prettiest, but their service is excellent! Worth taking a look at!

Hi

I have to second KC on http://www.godaddy.com.
The only issue I've ever had with then, after 5 years of service, was resolved in less then a day.

My experience with HostMatters.com has been positive. Their email support response time has always been very quick, usually within hours.

I can also recommend HostGator.com and GoDaddy.com.

Hi,

As someone who knows a bit about web site hosting, I'd say to watch out for GoDaddy. While they seem to handle web sites just fine, their e-mail policies prevent a lot of their customers from receiving e-mails due to extremely ill-thought-out anti-spam policies. Many of my customers routinely complain that they can't e-mail people who use GoDaddy servers, and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it. I've tried talking to their customer service line and their so-called President's Office repeatedly, to no avail.

Good luck,

Aaron

I have been designing websites for over 10 years and usually have my clients go to smallbusiness.yahoo.com The Starter package is what I usually recommend and they give you a free domain name if you need it. They are reliable, cost is reasonable and they are very easy to use..they have a site builder for free and they ALSO HAVE 24 HR. TECH SUPPORT BY PHONE..hooray for that. Never had any problems with them. Take a look and see what you think.

I have an excellent hosting company that I use for ALL my websites in my web design business. It's Doteasy.com. For just around $25 for domain name and a year's worth of hosting, you get excellent customer service,100MB free hosting,1000MB traffic, 10 free email accounts with email forwarding, free setup, free website designer, 1 GB/month for data transfer and free support. If you do decide to use their hosting, could you please input my affiliate ID of "bizrsc1"? The referral would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Edie Wiske.

I recommend celona or Barcelona hosting http://celona.info o sing up! Unlimited Storage and Unlimited Bandwidth for 5.99 per month. http://celona.info/home.htm The servers are located in Los Angele at the safest building in the US(security is tighter than Fort Knox)

I would suggest you start with a well known host, one of the big names such as Yahoo when first starting out. Once you get your feet soaking wet, then you may consider another host. I have found their support is pretty good and they work well for me.

Providing inspiration and information worth sharing that
will help you realize your potential.
