52, Help! I need a name to move forward!

Greetings cyber friends!

I am brand new to this site, but what a blessing. You are really talented people out there. Thank you for freely sharing your knowledge.

I am starting two business that intertwine. The first is a modern-day finishing school for tweens, teens and college-age people. I help individuals with business and social manners, money management (the importance of debt-free living), dressing for their figure and occasion, intros...The second business is a consulting business for career changers, those in crisis, or those just wanting to do what God created them to do...helping to find their purpose.

I have business plans, but no names. Two questions: 1) do I name them separately? Or, do I use the same name, with two different marketing approaches?

Finally, here are some names I've come up with. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Two possible tags:
A Modern-Day Finishing School
Passion. Purpose. Power.

Thanks again.

I would say use one name in this case. Have a "Business" division and a "Personal" division. They seem very close in relation to each other.

But if two businesses are unrelated, never use one name. It confuses the customer. If they can't figure what you do, they don't take a chance. People love specialists, not generalists.

Nancy and John,

Thank you so much for your feedback. Having lead a team of creative people...in an office!...for a long time, it is tough sitting out here alone and brainstorming with myself!

You've got me rolling.

Hi, Robin!

"Charmed Life" is the first name that popped into my head. Your suggested tag of "A Modern-Day Finishing School" is great. It's short and descriptive, which is perfect.

You could use the same name as long as you have one business. So, consider incorporating the finishing school aspect into your service geared toward adults and let that be the focus of your business.

I think you would really have a market for this with adults, too. Business entertaining alone requires some level of a "finishing school" education. That's true whether one is an employee, employer, entrepreneur, or client.

Then, the career counseling could be your value-added service.

For the younger group, you could market the money management as a value-added service.

Good luck!

Nancy
