I can't think of one right now but make sure that whatever name you choose it will work for men and women and not embarrass either one to attend. Good luck to you:7

That's an excellent point, Laura. Prospective customers might be anyone from 20-year olds (male or female) into body-building to senior citizens interested in improving their cardiovascular system. Among John's excellent list of names, The Fitness Factor and Always Fit are two that, in my opinion, would have universal appeal.

Wow, these names are so wonderful I think I should start up a gym:-) Instead of a small retail garden center. But alas, I am more of a digger than a weight-lifter. Oh gosh if you could manifest a name I would love you forever and send you a petunia or two.

Here is the outline...small because the space is small and cheap, a potting shed kind of outbuilding in what will be an art/antique/shabby chic place in a wonderful old building. Except of course I am outside the main building. The space has an old water holding tank, a strange old sink from the forties (I believe) wood and tin walls. It is so weird; it is me and perfect for a plantswoman who is a closet florist. In fact I do living plant arrangements, potted gardens, will have bonsai and my own brand of potting soil(whatever the heck I will call that?...egads, a gardener must become a wordsworker. I need help and the suggestions here are so wonderful.

Thanks a million.

I really love that Autumn and Eve and even Little Well.

Also, how about
MeadowLands or
Lily and Sage
White Willow Garden Center (reminds me of the shabby chic)

I like the name "Fitness Factor" that John C suggested the best. I kinda thought of another name based on John's suggestion. How about "Zero to Hero"? But I think I would only use the name "Zero to Hero", if you gym is going to be mostly targeted to guys who do some serious lifting. If your gym is going to be an all inclusive club which offers fitness for everyone in every type of exercise, then I think "Fitness Factor" is the way to go. It's trendy and it covers just about every customer who would be using your gym.

how about "pound for pound"

I would go with something that reflects the style/theme of the business...

Make the name speak louder than the words used.

Not knowing the location (street name) or your name, I cant go that route, but using a term to best describe who you cater to or the type of clientele you desire would be a good move...

Is it for men and women both? Retirees? Gen X?

Good luck at a name !!

BODY COUNT

I don't know why, but it sounds like of trendy. It sounds a bit masculine, but it is easier to get girls to a gym with a masculine name than for guys to go to a gym with a feminine name.
