"Need a name for Restaurant"


We are planning on opening up a restaurant in our town that is rich in diverse cultures and would like some help and ideas on a name. The main items on our menu will consist of specialising on African and Caribbean meals as the restaurants in town cater for everyone else except African Caribbean type food.

We want to brand the restaurant as a uniquely ethnic business. A unique name is crucial as we also will be having a website where we hope to generate some of our bookings. We are tossing around ideas of painting the interior of the restaurant with some distinctive color as well as having some tasteful decor thats meaningful and relates to Africa & the Caribbean Islands. We want to remain professional, but also want to make a mark in the local industry and raise some eyebrows through our unique branding and the fact that it is female driven.

So far, the only 2 names we could come up with was "Fusion" or "Harmony." (idea being we will be combining meals from Africa & the Caribbean) I'm not convinced that's the best names.

Any creative help with a name/names AND even a tag line would be so greatly appreciated.

I don't know what I could be too much help. Given that you're focusing on stuff from Africa and the Caribbean, why not use some distinctive word or phrase from an African country or an island in the Caribbean?

But, maybe if you think you will be changing the food at some point or adding other foods, then you may not want to use something so specific.

Sticking to what you have, maybe something like Ethnic Food Fusion (and the domain name is available). Fusion of Ethic Foods; Food Harmony; maybe a tag line: The original home of African and Caribbean cuisine in Name of your City (because as you said, no one else serves such foods in your area).

With the influence of Black culture which also includes influences more native such as Cajun and Boudin, on American cuisine I still always consider it to be "Soul" food. First for the love and passion that goes into the food and secondly the fact it is comforting, great tasting, fill you up and make you happy food! It is literally food for the "Soul".
