1017, Need a name for a Tutoring service
Posted by Krenwells, Mon Dec-01-08 12:33 AM
Hi,

I am planning a tutoring service for pre-teen to high shool students. Would anyone know of a catchy name that would help me stand out from the crowd of tutoring services.

My service would be primarily online so an online tutoring service.
One name I thought of that would interest a high-schooler would be talking tutor as in my personal talking tutor.

Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks!

Hi Mindy,

Thanks for your feedback and I kinda like itutor also. Itutor is good since I can say "I" stands for personal tutoring But I was thinking since there are so many tutoring services out there that I should try to differentiate myself by offering some uniqueness and perhaps that should reflect in the business name to draw attention.

Since I will be a computer tutor teaching students and professionals how they can use their computer software wisely to sharpen their computer skills so I have been considering a name related to what I would be doing to draw interest and awareness of how using a computer can make life easier when you know how..something like:

clickthis
computerclicks
smartclick
ITcando
coolclicks where "cool" could stand for "computer opportunities online learning"

Let me know your thoughts or maybe I am thinking way to much about the right name and I should just move forward with the name "itutor".

I think I still like itutor best, especially if your focus is on the younger generation. It goes right along with iphone, ipod, etc. I also think it encompasses the computer aspect you wanted to incorporate into the name. Hope that helps!

Hi Mindy,

Thank you very much for your reply. I certainly appreciate your feedback. Now I'll work on my usp that will set my business apart.
Something like..."Make IT work to your advantage" or "Experience computer skills for the Real World".

Again Thanks!

Hi Mandy and ALL,

I just discovered that the business name I want for my computer tutoring service is taken. The name itutor is taken.

Can anyone help me with another business name that would be suitable?

I would appreciate any tips on a good name.
Thanks,

Krenwells

Hi ALL,

Since I will be providing computer lessons online as a computer tutor I am still trying to come up with a good catchy name since itutor is already taken.

Let me know what you think of the following names or do you have any other suggestions since I am stuck on finding the right name that send the message about my business. I want something cool that would appeal to the young middle school to high-school crowd that I would be working with primarily and I will also tutor business professionals. And for global services I plan to partner with other tutors to offer a tutor referral service..so I want the name to allow for future global business growth.

How about these names:
Savve-tutor
ITmobile or mobileIT
computercompanion
techsavvy
Iclick
computerclick

I was just checking in again to see if anyone had any thoughts or suggestions for a tutoring service.

Over dinner last night I was given another business name that sounds like a possible winner..the name is "Worth Learning" using my last name Worth.

Please let me know what you think?

Thanks,
Krenwells
