Here is another free tool that I have been telling people about. A British firm is offering to send business websites to the No. 1 Pay per Click location on Google and hold it there for 7 days to show us they can do it. They plan to charge a fee from day 8 forward if we want their services.

There is No Cost and No Obligation to try their services. This is a very limited time offer, however.

Their objective is to build up a client base by giving potential clients a valuable sample of their services right up front. The link below should take you there for additional information.

They do request 120 days to get your site up to the number 1 position on Google but they do not request a credit card or any other financial information until you have a chance to try their services and see the results. I signed up 5 of my business sites and am looking forward to seeing their results.

Hmmm... what does it cost.

I want to see these guys do the impossible... Get me to number 1 in hot sauce... That, I might actually pay for.

OK, wait a minute... I know these guys... or well, rather, I know of them.

1on40... is owned by Steve Hopkins. I remember my friend Reg Charie, a specialist in SEO placement telling me to avoid this stuff and why when I was trying to improve the hits and google listings on my site. (As I stated in my earlier post, getting to #1 in Hot Sauce is damned near impossible) and according to Mr. Hopkins, without them, it is impossible as I currently rank 3300-3310 out of 4,170,000. Interesting to say the least, because if I google my product brand, I rank not only 1st, but hold every place under that name for 20-40 positions. Where are they getting "3300-3310" from???

I just pm'd my buddy reg and he replied that it's a scam. The only way to adjust your google rankings is from within your site so, without giving your SEO specialist access to your site, you're jeopardizing your google ranking altogheter. He linked me to a conversation at Scam.com: here: http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?s=67233f7d0cf1e844a8821bd447830bcb&t=32975

and to 1on40 - A review, here: http://hubpages.com/hub/1non40-A-review

Maybe Hopkins isn't using black hat optimizations, but in case you're wondering why that might be important... read this link:

http://www.kvisionindia.com/news/the-dangers-of-black-hat-seo.htm

According to Reg, unless changes are being made to the site in question, google considers the "optimization" to be black hat and it is thus "illegal" by their rules of engagement.

If you value your website... DO NOT do this unless you can assure yourself that the methods being used aren't black hat... and as I said, Reg assures me that there is absolutely nothing that can be done that doesn't involve giving 1on40 access to your code, that isn't considered black hat.

Hi Tina,

Actually the only thing that can be done is to "Google Bomb" an anchor text phrase. This phrase, which would contain your keywords, would be placed on thousands of sites, (it looks like Hopkins uses blogs), which would drive your site to the top.

However if - not if but WHEN, Google sees the huge number of new incoming links they will be certain to downgrade or eliminate your listings.

This is definitely outside of their allowed methods and while they do not always react immediately, they do eventually.

Hey Reg,

Thanks for chiming in... Glad you could make it.

I understand about Google downgrading you for using these methods, since explaining it to me, it makes sense. What I have to wonder is, if we have used such methods (unwittingly, of course) in the past, how do we counter these methods???

That is a difficult thing to overcome Tina.

Basically you should stay away from automatic submitters.
These are against Google's webmaster's guidelines.
See http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35769
where they say
"Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold? that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google."

They also say
"Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank."

Hello Tina, Reg, and all,

Thank you for all your comments and links. I don't know for sure who the owner of the 1on40 SEO service is since Whois does not give a clear answer and I have not talked to them directly.

I guess the final proof of their service will be wheither or not they get the job done. They have stated that the free, no obligation, offer is for a limited time only and after that they are like the rest of us. They work for pay.

As I previously stated I put 5 of my websites on their service to give it a fair try. If they get the job done, I will probably buy the service and put up more.

There is no risk for me since Google is not going to quit taking my pay-per-click money just because I gave them a try.

In doing a search I also found another firm ran by a retired doctor, Dr. Cohan, offering to sell an ebook called "Get Google Ads Free". Yep, I ordered the ebook to see how to do it and I can testify it is for sure the real thing. Google not only knows about and has read his book, they wish him all the best in selling it using their services. After reading it myself, I can see why.

I am sure most of you have probably already read it and are already using some of its systems but if not here is a link to the doc's ad site.

Thanks again, Tina and Reg, and yes, I will try to eat more peppers too.
