I know a tax service that is going out of business in my area and I would like to solicit her clients with her permission. Can I do that? How do I go about writing a letter to her? Is this the apporiate thing to do?

Thank you,

Stacey Poole:)

Why don't you take them out for lunch and just ASK?! it won't hurt...

You are offering their clients a service and helping in a smoooooth transition

I agree, ask them. They may have already sold their client base.

However, have a plan, too.

What are you willing to provide them in return for their client list? And for how long?

And what are their prices?

I've had clients take over another's clientele and they were charging 1/3 of what my clients charged! Another accountant bought out a company and their equipment was old and records were in a box!
