I agree with the above poster. Using them on your website is a great way to start.

This is the website I have set up with my business partner and we have been told many times over that the testimonials are what did it for our on the fence customers. Having them posted directly in plain site is also something I would advise. This is a great way to build trust with potential customers, as they are much more likely to believe you are good to do business with if they hear it from past customers rather than from you yourself.
Also, if you do any direct marketing (copywriting/sales letters), testimonials can be added in a similar manner in your copy.
